Rummage Sale and Adoption Fair (8-21-10)

Posted August 22, 2010 9:05 am

Our Rummage Sale & Adoption Fair was a success! The adoptions of Roxy and Snoopy were finalized at the event & Courage and Avery went to new foster homes! A total of $2155 was raised between adoptions fees, rummage item sales and a very special donation made by a Bull Terrier rescuer to sponsor Wilson’s recovery. We handed out several foster applications and had a few people seriously interested about adoption.

Enjoy the pics below and join our meetup group to get in on all our future events: http://www.meetup.com/engbulldog-300/

AABR would like to extend a very BIG thank you to all our volunteers, foster parents and supporters near and far who helped make this event a roaring success. AABR and our bullies adore & appreciate you all! ♥

AABR's 3rd B-day BBQ Party - 7-31-10!!!

Posted August 2, 2010 10:00 am

Thank everyone to everybullie who had a part in AABR's 3rd Birthday meetup. Whether you were 1 of the 77+ attendees or a sponsor from afar that donated an item to our raffle/auction - it was a very successful event overall. We had two special women fly in from NY & NY independently to attend and a handful of families drive over 2+ hours from across the state to take part. Collectively, thru admission, donations, item sales & raffles tickets, we raised $965 for Adopt-A-Bull Rescue! Courage was able to make a brief appearance and we hope you were able to see why we have these functions and exactly where your donations go - to bulldogs like Courage and many of her other bullies friends that find themselves in our rescue program.
Thank you again to everybullie and we'll see you at the next one!

Doggiepalooza 1-30-10 - City of Plantation

Posted February 8, 2010 3:37 pm
Adopt-A-Bull Rescue participates in many county and city events throughout the South Florida area, as well as events put on by other rescues & organizations. January was a month full of rescue events and we had our famous bullie booth present at each of them. Winter Bark, hosted by Compassionate Pug Rescue, was held January 23 in Boca Raton. Rescue groups & local vendors were present educating the public about rescue organizations and the benefits of spaying/neutering, how to care for elderly pets, and had pet supplies for sale . Also held on January 23 was the first annual Bow Wow Block Party held at the Coconut Creek Casino. It was a day of fun and activities for dogs and their people, including a costume parade & contest. The 2010 Winter Equestrian Festival was held January 30-31 in Wellington. Adopt-A-Bull Rescue was invited to be present along with six other pet rescues to promote pet adoption. Doggie-Palooza - A Pet Expo hosted by the City of Plantation was also held on January 30. Demonstrations were provided by the city’s Police K9 Unit; a frisbee & flyball dog show was offered, as well as a doggie fun zone, contests, & giveaways; and vendors and rescue groups were present to provide information and products. Dog Bowl IV was another day of fun and activities for dogs and their people held on January 31. Games and contests were held, including a costume contest, bobbing for hot dogs, musical dogs, a Rip Van Winkle sleep off, and the Casper the Ghost game, as well as dog massages and Canine Good Citizen Testing. Adopt-A-Bull attends these events to provide information and education on rescue to the public. These events help us to educate the public and network with other organizations and rescues. However, we had the added bonus of some publicity at the Doggie-Palooza event. A journalist from the Miami Herald captured one of our Adopt-A-Bull graduates in our kissing booth earning some $$$ for the current rescues. We were shocked and thrilled to see our very own Girl, 11 years old, on page 3B of the Herald, Sunday January 31st edition, smooching a very happy Plantation resident. Although Girl has been adopted by one of our volunteers, she frequents rescue events to show everyone how awesome older dogs can be. She was definitely a hit at Doggie-Palooza and gained Adopt-A-Bull some much appreciated exposure! Feeling like you missed out on some fun activities last month? Not to worry, more events are planned for February! Please join us at the second annual Pets on the Plaza held Saturday February 13 from 10am-4pm in the downtown Lake Worth Cultural Plaza. This is a community event promoting pet adoption and responsible pet ownership while celebrating the many lives that have already been saved through the endless efforts of volunteer rescue groups. Adopt-A-Bull will have our bullie booth, and volunteers are needed to help us run the booth & set up starting at 9:00am. More info: http://engbulldog.meetup.com/300/

Weekend in Orlando!

Posted January 20, 2010 4:13 pm

And of course, we couldn't leave Orlando without assisting another bulldog in need. We left Orlando and headed home with one more bullie than we had originally traveled with. Welcome Mikki!
