Adopter will be required to carry through with current training routine. Adoption fee will apply.

Name: Maggie
Estimated Age: 3
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Maggie came to us on 9-12-07 from a local city Humane Department. She was picked up as a stray traveling with a friend of hers, a little Westie, five days earlier. Maggie is a very sweet girl, estimated to be 4 years old, possibly younger, weighs 55 pounds. Maggie has a beautiful fawn/brown coat with white markings on her head. She went to the vet the same day she entered our rescue program. All blood work tests came back negative, however she did test postitve for hookworms on her fecal test. She has been vaccinated & is now up to date on all shots. De-worming procedures have begun. Next week Maggie will visit an orthopedic specialist becuase we hear a clicking sound coming from her rear quarters as she walks. Our general vet believes she may have an issue with her back right knee, she's limping as she walks. Maggie is already spayed & will be available for adoption once we figure out what's going on with her knee. One thing we have discovered already (in just the 8 hours we've had Maggie) is that she LOVES squeeky toys.

Name: Luna
Estimated Age: 4-5
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Luna entered our rescue program on August 18, 2007. She came from a local high kill shelter where she was either picked up as a stray or surrended by her owner (her kennel card reports conflicting information). Luna is estimated to be between 4 & 5 years old. She's a very sweet petite girl at only 32 pounds. Her weight fits her frame well, she is full grown, not too skinny, just petite. Luna is very cautious of her surroundings and is frightful of sudden movements at this point in time. When we go to pet her or approach her in certain ways, she cringes and retreats. Due to certain behaviors we've witnessed by Luna, we are confident that she has been abused in the past. Luna is in good health. Although she walks with a slight limp, veterinary examination reveals good range of motion in all limbs, possibly a minor elbow injury in the past, nothing serious. Luna walks very well on a leash and even trots on occasion. She's so cute to watch! Luna is transitioning very well in rescue. We are going very slow with her and being very delicate - this little girl has been through a lot in her past life. She is spayed and up to date on all vaccines - ready to go to her forever home!

Name: Emma
Estimated Age: DOB: 8-4-06
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Meet Emma, an owner surrender that just entered our program on 10-13-07. Emma is just over a year old and in great health. She is spayed, white with fawn spots and loves baths! She’s a big girl and could probably stand to lose a few pounds to polish off her beautiful girlish figure. Emma loves to go on walks, especially when she gets to pull. She also loves to play with all kinds of toys, as long as they are sized so that she cannot swallow them. She is a very sweet and sociable girl that loves human company. She should be supervised around small children because she is still just a big puppy that doesn’t know her own size or strength. Emma is extremely talented. Besides Sit, Down, and Shake, she also does impressions; her best being a vacuum cleaner. Her new family should be sure to keep a tidy home because if not, Emma will be sure to eat anything they leave lying around. Her favorite treats are socks ;) So far it appears that she gets along well with other dogs, but we aren’t sure about cats. Emma’s ideal home would be one in which she gets maximum human contact. She loves to get attention and hates to be left alone. When left alone, Emma should be crated to keep her from continuing to practice her vacuum cleaner impression.

Name: Boodah
Estimated Age: 3
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Boodah is looking for his forever family! This baby boy is around 3 years old, neutered, great personality and sweet as can be. He gets along well with other dogs, and absolutely loves people. Boodah's favorite thing to do is to plop down on cold floor tiles & take a snooze. When Boodah sits down, he actually sits on his bum like a person. He could stand to lose just a couple pounds and when sitting his side fat rolls are apparent. Can you guess where he got his name from?

Name: Chloe
Estimated Age: 7
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Chloe came to us as an owner surrender. She is 7 years old (although you would never be able to tell by the way she acts), spayed, and solid white in color. We do not know how she interacts with cats, as she has never met one in her life. Chloe did live with a Shihtzu and gets along with her submissive bulldog foster brother, but she has not been exposed to many others dogs so we are not sure yet if she gets along with ALL dogs. Chloe does have sensitive skin and perhaps a few allergies so she is currently getting medicated baths every other week with special shampoo. Her favorite thing to do is suckle on her stuffies and her toys are her prized possessions - she will not give them up easily. Chloe walks on a leash very well, it is so funny to see her waddle down the street. And she really does waddle so she could stand to lose just a few pounds. Right now Chloe is being treated with ear drops to clear up an ear infection. She is really a very cute girl and has a great personality. LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY.

Name: Bolo
Estimated Age: 3
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
1-18-08 Bolo is now medically cleared for Adoption!!! He is mange free & ready for his forever home! For Bo's complete story, please visit his blog: http://adoptabullrescue.com/blog.php?action=get_blog&blog_name=Bolo
Bolo was found wandering near the swampy everglades on Alligator Alley by a local county sheriff officer on November 6th. Adopt-A-Bull Rescue was contacted and we immediately admitted him into our rescue program and took him to be treated by our vet. Bolo is very underweight coming in at just 39 pounds, he is covered from head to toe in demodex mange and has lost over 75% of the hair on his body. His feet are bald, red and swollen. Bolo was found dirty, covered with ticks and fleas, and with nails that were so long, they curled back into his paw. He is estimated to be around 3 years old, netutered, and has a great personality. Despite his weakend state and obvious lack of care he remains in good spirits and is extremely friendly. He likes to jump up when he gets excited and would do well in a house with no small children. Bolo will be available for adoption as soon as his skin condition is cleared up.

Name: Tampa
Estimated Age: 4
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Tampa is in our rescue program to be re-homed. She is a happy, healthy four year old spayed female. Tampa is a very small compact bully weighing just 40 pounds, completely white besides a dark patch on her eye. Gets along great with other dogs, and would do well in a household with children over 13. Tampa is very gentle and sweet natured. From what we have seen from her so far she is very submissive and slightly timid. She has a great personality and is very well behaved. Walks great on a leash, rides nicely in the car. Tampa loves to spend time in her crate and will go in it on her own to sleep or just hang out with the door open. Tampa feels comfortable in her own safe spot and her crate is her favorite place! Overall Tampa is in great health, she does have a very tight inverted tail/pocket which will need daily monitoring and frequent cleaning.
Update: Tampa had her inverted tail amputated after months of failed attempts to keep her tail pocket infection under control. She is recovering well after surgery and is being adopted by her wonderful foster mommie!

Name: Rocky
Estimated Age: 11 months
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Rocky is a BIG 11 month old baby boy! He is a wild child, very high energy, extremely playful, very strong, 65 pounds, and will not be placed in a home with small children. He is just now learning not to pull us down the block when we take him for walks. He is very strong and must be kept on a short leash... no retractables for this boy! I call him a BIG DOOF cause he's a very crazy boy and is MORE than a handful to deal with. Rocky will need basic training for sure, and an owner with a lot of patience and time to spend with him. Rocky is not used to 'regular' life - all he knows is being tied up in a backyard becuase his previous owners were sick of him tearing through the house to work off his supressed energy :( Rocky's face folds require daily cleaning and carefull observation & daily checks of his tail pocket are a must. Rocky will be ready for his forever home after his neuter surgery - we are now accepting applications on Rocky. He will be a local adoption only and will only be placed with a family with prior bullie experience.
Update: 12-14-07 - Rocky was just neutered on Wednesday and is in a foster home recovering. He is now available for adoption.
In the words of Rocky's foster mom: "He barks, he slobbers, he chews on all things. We have walked 5 long ones & he still barks. His new owner needs tons of "angel" patience. He is basically an overgrown toddler with fur. It is so important to find the right home for him."
Rocky is a handful and we will be very selective in screening the applicants that apply to adopt him. He craves attention and will whine and cry when we depart from him, he needs constant attention during this very critical transition period.

Name: Angel
Estimated Age: DOB: 3-22-07
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Angel is a 9 month old Olde English Bulldogge, spayed female, great health, sweet & gentle. She's just a puppy and will need a little assistance with her housebreaking skills. She is up to date on all shots and is currently turning out to be a great foster sister to a Victorian Bulldog. Angel gets along better with larger dogs than smaller ones. Angel was an owner surrender and we we blessed to have such a pretty and problem-free girl enter our rescue/rehome program. If you are interested in adopting Angel, please fill out an adoption application.

Name: Merry
Estimated Age: 2
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
"Merry" entered our rescue program on Wednesday, August 15, 2007. She will be available for adoption ONLY after she has clearance from our vet, this is estimated to be no sooner than 2 months time. We received Merry from a local animal shelter, her emaciated body covered with ticks. Thankfully she's heartworm negative. Merry is being cared for by one of Adopt-A-Bull Rescue's board members until she is well enough to go a foster family, and then ultimately to her forever family. She is partially blind in one eye, loves other dogs, great with children, walks well on a leash, and she's potty trained! (Yes, I couldn't believe it myself - she's potty trained!!!) Merry will be spayed as soon as she's strong enough to undergo surgery. Merry is currently on daily eye medication & oral spray for an infected tooth. Day by day she seems to be improving, steadily & slowly.
To aid Merry in her recovery donations are being accepted.
Please visit Merry's blog which is updated daily for more detailed information: Please Visit Merry's Blog
Adopted Jan. 2008!

Name: Chopper
Estimated Age: DOB: 12-16-05
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Chopper was born on 12-16-05, he was found in Miami as a stray. Chopper came to us with his left eye nearly swollen shut from what the vet thinks is an insect bite. He is a very good boy, walks well on a leash, does not pull at all. Very sweet temperment, loves attention, enjoys being rubbed. Gets along with other dogs his size, we don't know how he interacts with cats. Good with children, housetrained, crate trained, loves squeeky toys, and just lying around the house. When Chop gets excited or is exposed to the heat he will breathe heavy, so extra caution must be taken during these conditions. Chopper will need to be neutered prior to adoption, but we are now accepting applications.
11-29-07 UPDATE - Chopper has been re-united with his original owner.

Name: Butchie
Estimated Age: 3-4
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Butchie was surrendered by his owner to a local humane society in South Carolina - his owner claimed he attacked his cow, yes, that's right, a cow. In lieu of being put to sleep, Butchie was admitted into our rescue program with the help of some awesome bulldog railroad volunteers. BTW - the sweet gentle soul would not hurt a fly, let alone a farm animal :) Please see Butchie's complete story and more pictures by visiting his blog: http://adoptabullrescue.com/blog.php?action=get_blog&blog_name=Butchie

Name: Bonkee
Estimated Age: 3
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
*** Special Needs*** Bonkee was admitted into our rescue program on 1-5-07 - he was our first intake of the New Year. Happy 2008 Bonkee!!! Your life is sure to improve from here on out! Bonkee has his own personal blog with tons of pics and daily updates: Bonkee's Blog

Name: Churchill
Estimated Age: DOB: 5-9-01
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Churchill's original owners surrendered him to our organization on 1-6-08. He is a very playfull boy, in great health, loves attention and affection, loves to take baths, and even does the famous "bullie wiggle butt dance" when he's happy. He absolutely loves to play with other dogs, and doesn't even mind cats either. Churchill lived with a 2 year old and an infant so we know that he does get along with children, however, he does tend to jump up on people when he is excited so we feel Churchill would do best in a home with no children under 5 years old. Adopt-A-Bull Rescue was able to obtain Churchill's complete veternarian file since he was 8 weeks of age and it has been confirmed that he has had no major health issues to date :) Churchill will be sure to keep your floors clean, as he practices his vacuum cleaner impression on a daily basis. Be sure to keep un-edible objects off the floor & food out of reach or you can be assured that Churchill will get into it. If you are interested in adopting Churchill, please fill out an application. Thanks!
A little update from Churchill's new forever family: Here's a few pics of our boy! He is doing great, he has been absolutely awesome since we've gotten him home. As you probably can expect, he is the hit of our neighborhood, everyone loves him, and he eats up all the attention. Thanks again for everything your rescue group did for him (and us). We couldn't be any happier . - Rick
Update: May 2008: Church is so awesome! All is fine, he has been everything we hoped for. I'll send some pics soon. - Rick

Name: Leila
Estimated Age: 4
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Leila came to us on 1-7-08 as an owner surrender due to a divorce between her owners. Leila has been living in an un-airconditioned garage for the past 5 months according to the husband's statement upon surrender. Thank God Leila made her way to us, were were told the wife was going to take her to the pound if someone didn't take her immediately. Leila was surrendered to us with a leash....and that's it. Leila is not used to walking on a leash and will need some assistance with her housebreaking. She weighs only 38 pound and is currently underweight. She is solid white in color and has a few minor skin abrasions on her legs from direct constant contact with the garage floor. Leila gets along with other dogs and children too. She does jump up when excited and we are currently in the process of crate training her. Overall Leila is a very happy & healthy girl. Leila has tested negtive for heartworms. We will spay her, bring her current on all vaccinations, and evaluate her further prior to adoption. If you are interested in Leila, please fill out an adoption application.

Name: Toodles
Estimated Age: DOB: 5-17-06
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Toodles, an owner surrender, entered our program on 1-12-08 because her owner is moving out of state and is unable to take Toodles with her. We will be evaluating her over the next week or so in order to determine suitable placement for her. Toodles is a playful, high energy, baby girl. She does jump up on people when excited because she seems to be unable to control her happiness level! She is up to date on all vaccines, already spayed, in great health, but is a bit on the porky side and could stand to lose a few pounds. Toodles gets along well with other dogs and children. If you are interested in adopting Toodles, please fill out an adoption application. Thanks.
2-16-08 - ADOPTED!

Name: Wally
Estimated Age: 1-2
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
WALLY HAS HIS OWN BLOG: Wally Bear's Blog
Wally is our bull-ti-full blonde boy with HUGE paws and a BIG smooshy teddy-bear head, he entered our rescue program on 1-17-08. Wally came from a local shelter, he was covered in ticks & has major problems with his ears. Due to untreated ear infections Wally's ears are so closed up, the vet can't even get a scope in his ear to look inside. Although we are currently accepting applications on Wally, there is a possibility that if he needs ear surgery he will not be available until after recovery. Wally is currently on medication for his ear issues and after a couple weeks on medication to see if some of the swelling will go down - he will go in for another evaluation. Wally does well with children & other dogs. He has a very tight bun tail that will require constant monitoring & his face wrinkles will need special attention as well. Wally is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and like every dog in our rescue program, he is microchipped. When Wally gets happy, he'll turn upside down on his back and start rolling all over the floor, swatting his paws in the air to initiate play. <---- this is the cutest thing! Wally will be a local adoption only, becuase I want visitation rights :) This boy must stay local because he already has a special piece of my heart.
1-27-08 Update - Wally is toy & food possessive. He will steal toys from other dogs & walk right over to another dog while he is eating, stick his head right in their bowl, and steal their food while they are eating it! He needs to be carefully supervised during play & meals. Wally went to an off leash dog park this weekend & did well with the other dogs as long as no toys were involved. If you are interested in Wally, please fill out an application. Due to the overhelming number of contacts we receive each day, we will not respond to individual inquiries about Wally (or any of our other dogs) unless you have an adoption application already on file with us. Thank You
2-8-08 Wally will be available for adoption AFTER he has his ear surgery. This surgery is not yet scheduled, however, we are currently accepting applications on Wally Bear.

Name: Brinks
Estimated Age: DOB: 8-8-03
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:

Name: Dora
Estimated Age: DOB: 10-2-02
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Dora, aka. Ms Piddles, has finally reached her God-planned destination. She has been bounced around to several different homes over the past several months, finally coming to rest and finding her safe haven at Adopt-A-Bull Rescue on January 23, 2008. Dora has had at least one litter of puppies in her past, as is evident by her dropping nipples. Her temperament is as sweet as can be; she is great with other dogs big or small and children of all ages. Dora has a fantastic personality and her current weight, 43 pounds, is perfect for her frame. Her squishy face is magnificent; her brown thick coat is soft and silky. She loves to shower everyone with kisses and she believes she is a lap dog; simultaneously she is extremely well behaved and is mindful of other’s property. Dora does have a few issues which are probably the reason why she ended up in rescue. For starters, Dora has a very obvious case of elbow dysplasia, as you may be able to see from the pictures. This cannot be cured with surgery, rather something that Dora has grown used to and lives with. She is not in any obvious pain and doesn't know anything is wrong, but when she walks & runs, she wobbles happily from side to side as she plays, and explores. Currently, Dora is wearing diapers because we are in the process of finding out whether her urinary incontinence is due to a UTI, anxiety, or an underlying medical condition, more to follow.
2-4-08 Dora is currently being treated for a bladder infection/UTI. After 4 doses of antibiotic, we have little to no piddling …Hallelujah! Yesterday, we officially started house breaking practice.. today she insisted on pooping on the road when the grass was 1 inch away…but foster mommy and daddy have lots of experience with such poor puppy behavior and we are sure that this too will resolve. :) Love and kisses from Dora aka formerly called Ms. Piddles…
3-24-08 Dora is still battling a UTI/bladder infection, she has crystals in her urine, thankfully no stones. Apparently, Dora's UTI issues have remained unteated very long before she entered our custody. Dora is currently on special food & cranberry pills to assist with raising the PH level in her urine. Dora will be spayed this week and hopefully this will assist the recovery from her long-withstanding UTI. If you are interested in adopting Dora, please fill out an application. Thanks.
4-22-08 Update: Dora's urinalysis this week was very good, no problems!!! GREAT NEWS!!!!

Name: Prince
Estimated Age: 10
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
For more details on Prince's sad, sad story and tons of pics, please visit Prince's Blog Do you have love in your heart and room on your couch for this special senior boy? Prince is a sweet old man who was found as a stray. He was brought to us on 1-24-08 by a good Samaritan who found him in the street in the middle of traffic. It was immediately clear that he had some issues. He is blind and deaf and bears obvious signs of neglect. His eyes were covered with thick, green goop and his blindness seems to be from severe dry eye. His ear canals are completely closed up and calcified, not even a Q-tip can penetrate. His neck is bald where a small rope collar has been chaffing into his skin. He has advanced periodontal disease and his teeth are in bad shape. Most of his upper teeth are already missing and the rest are protruding, shifted, and incased in tarter. Most likely more teeth will have to be extracted. He also has some kind of growth or hemroid on his anus which is resulting in bloody stools. He was filthy, invested with fleas and ticks, and is under weight. Despite all these problems this 10 year old boy is in good spirits and is enjoying the attention! He tolerates his daily multiple eye flushes and drops and tooth brushing and oral flushes. He gets wet food because he can't chew kibble. He goes potty out side and likes to roll around in the grass! He is very smart, and has already memorized the path from his crate to the door and where all the steps are. He seems to follow by scent and likes to stick close to your legs. He even likes to go on short walks and explore new scents. This poor boy needs a kind heart to give him a warm bed, a loving touch, and a comfortable life for his last senior years. Do you have a place in your heart for Prince?

Name: Bach (Gordo)
Estimated Age: DOB: 4-16-04
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Intake 1-26-08 - Owner surrender to local shelter. Bach was surrendered to a local shelter by his original owners who had him since he was 3 months old. Reason for surrender: "We moved to a small apartment and are having a baby." Bach is a BIG boy weighing in at 70 pounds. He is a very cute bullie boy and is extremely strong! Bach is an active bulldog, he and loves to run and pulls very hard on leash. Bach will definitely need a very stong leader, he is a very determined boy and loves balls, ropes, and hoses! Bach loves when you scratch his tummy and his ears. He loves to chew so be sure to keep him busy with toys or bones. Bach is afraid of loud noises, fireworks, and really doesn't like baths. He needs work with his housetraining and should not live with any small children due to his size & strength. When left alone, Bach is fine in his crate. He will not cry or bark, he normally just takes a snooze :) When riding in a car, Bach get very excited, so a travel crate is recommended for his safety. Bach has no known health problems, he was recently neutered, and understands Spanish commands: Deja! Basta! Amiba, No, abajo, sientate. When Bach "Grrs" he is not being mean, he wants attention or wishes to play. Bach loves balls and chases cats, he likes to play a lot and is high-energy. A fenced in backyard for Bach is a must, previous experience with large breeds or determined bullies is required.

Name: Rosco
Estimated Age: 5
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Rosco came to us on 2-1-08 from a local high-kill animal shelter. He was not available to the general public for adoption, he was only a canidate for a rescue group because of his condition. He had a laceration to his neck, hair loss and crusty lesions to his neck and legs, and was put on medication in case he developed kennel cough. During his neuter surgery, the vet removed a testicular tumor. When we picked Rosco up from the shelter, we picked ticks the size of lima beans off him for a good 20 minutes before loading him into our SUV. Once home Rosco endured a very time consuming tick removal procedure and had a good, lengthy, very much needed scrub down in the tub. Rosco is a very well behaved boy, through all the picking, prodding, and cleaning he didn't mind any of it, never once put up a fight. Rosco is heartworm negative and is in good health. Rosco could possibly be a bullie mix. While he does have the smoosh-face bullie look, his body is tall like that of a boxer. We are calling Rosco Butchie's twin because they look so much alike. Rosco would do well in a home with a backyard, he likes exploring and sniffing in the grass. So far he does not seem to act poorly towards other dogs unless he's competing for human attention, children are okay too. Are you the right one for Rosco?
2-28-08 Rosco likes to eat grass...what a little goat! He much prefers grass over his dog food, let him outside to graze for breakfast instead of putting kibble in a bowl...lol :) We are trying to break Rosco's grass-eating habit. Currently Rosco is doing great in his new foster home, he lives with two small children and he's playing like a pup again!
UPDATE 5-20-08 from adopters: Rosco is doing fine, he's the talk of the neighborhood everybody loves him he's such a ham. Everything is just fine he's a great dog, really obedient, and house broken, can't ask for more.Take care and thanks again, Robert

Name: Sadie
Estimated Age: DOB: Nov. 2003
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Sadie is an English Bulldog mixed with an Olde English Bulldogge (we suspect she is also mixed with an American Bulldog), that's why she looks a little different from our other bullies :) Sadie entered our rescue program on 2-1-08. She was an owner surrender from Atlanta, GA and we set up a bullie railroad to get her here to South Florida. (Thanks to Amy, Lisa, & Heidi for their participation in this RR) Sadie is currently up to date on all her vaccinations, spayed, housebroken, neither toy or food possessive, gets along with other dogs and children of all ages. Sadie used to live with a 1 year old baby girl and is used to small children. Sadie is good during grooming, but gets a little unsettled during ear cleaning and we have to bribe her with treats when clipping her nails to get her to be still long enough. Sadie likes sleeping and being lazy, she enjoys sleeping near people or in the sunlight that shines through the window. Sadie loves to be scratched anywhere, especially on her back. She enjoys chewing on a KONG toy, she loves people and attention. Currently, Sadie is on weekly allergy injections for a staph infection on her skin that has gone untreated. She is also being bathed weekly in Malasab medicated shampoo to help alleviate the itching that results from the skin infection.
4-21-08 UPDATE: Sadie's skin condition had been healed! It's a miracle what weekly treatments can do! In order to maintain Sadie's awesome bright white coat, frequent baths are recommended. Sadie is actively seeking a forever home...could it be yours???

Arrival Story: I'm Tyson and I'm a crazy boy! I'm your typical male doofball & I love love love to play with toys! These nice ladies in rescue call me toy obsessive but I'm not quite sure what that means. I was initially found as a stray with heartworms and mange. I was rescued from the county animal shelter by Adopt-A-Bull Rescue and they have made me healthy - now I'm ready for adoption!
Bio: Tyson is a very bull-headed boy approx. 3-4 years old. He is best suited in a house without small children and as the only pet in the house. The perfect forever home for Tyson would be a family that doesn't mind a big slobbering, snoring, farting bulldog running around their house. Tyson is crate trained and it is strongly recommended this method of training be continued. PLEASE VISIT TYSON'S BLOG FOR UPDATED INFORMATION AND TONS MORE PICS: Tyson's Blog

Name: Bubba
Estimated Age: Young
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Bubba's my name and I'm the ham of the house! I get along with other dogs and even children too! I'm a very submissive boy and love to share my toys with other friends. I was at the local county pound because I escaped from where I was living and was picked up wandering the streets, they called me a "stray" - whatever that means. I have a microchip, but I was never registered - this is why I was at the local pound instead of back home with my family where I really belong. Right now, my family is Adopt-A-Bull Rescue and boy do I love it here! I am so worn out from playing with all the other nice bulldogs here and it's so amazing how good looking we all are :) <----- I overheard mommy say this to us! They say I am a very young, healthy, playfull boy. My rescue mommy is currently accepting applications for me, but I won't be ready to go to my forever home until I am neutered. If you are interested in having me join your family, please fill out an application.
2-20-08 Update - Bubba is very hyper & full of energy. He jumps up on people constantly and he's a very strong boy. A puppy proofed house is a must for Bubba, he gets into everything! He likes to chew and play with toys, but likes it even more to chew on things he's not supposed to. It is best that Bubba's forever family have experience with the English Bulldog breed and have a lot of patience. Because of Bubba's high energy and careless behavior he must be carefully supervised when he's not in his crate. Bubba will not be placed in a home with children under 10, and it's best if this boy goes to a home that has a large fenced in yard.
3-4-08 Update from new foster mommy - Bubba is living with a new foster fam and he's a foster bro to a bullie sister named Zoey. They chew on the same toy and mouth a little, kiss, etc. The times we get him to run after a ball, he is too funny. He bounces into the wall and off the furniture and into Zoey if she's in the way LOL. He's reckless. He does want to chase my kitty, looks for him all the time LOL. Does this usually mean he wants to hurt kitties??? He actually gave me his paw for "shake" today, but only once. Will try again later to get him to do this task he thinks is totally ridiculous. He's getting a little better "staying" by the doorway before we go out or indoors. Still walks nicely. And the smarty can open the cupboard door where our garbage can is, open a partially open doorwall and push open any door not closed tightly. I tested him and he passed with flying colors! Still watch him constantly, but at least he usually stops doing something when you say "no". This loving baby gives kisses on request and is a wonderful brother! He comes when called (ok, most of the time) and likes to follow you. This quiet sweety doesn't bark and whine when in his crate or on car rides. Bubba will let you take a toy or food from him (meaning he isn't possessive/aggressive); bathing, drying and routine cleaning of ears, etc. is a breeze. Exercise is key with Bubba - he follows me/us miles inside the house, goes on several leash walks, etc. and this makes him more than happy to lay and chew a toy! He isn't jumping up much and is coming around nicely, most of the time being calm and looking just adorable!
11-4-08 Adopter Update: "Every thing is great. Bubba is every thing we wished for and more, I wouldnt trade him for anything. He can be very challenging at times with his stubbborness but other than that we love him. We were just wanting to send you guys a few pictures of Bubba. He loves it here and we are very glad we found your rescue. We have such a great time with Bubba and can't imagine life without him. He loves everyone who comes over, he thinks they come over just to see him. Well, take care."

Name: Nugget
Estimated Age: Young-female
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
I am a very special girl - at least this is what my new mommy keeps telling me! I am a very petite bulldog, weighing only 34.5 pounds, I am short and very compact. I am on quarantine right now because I have kennel cough, but when I'm better mommy says I have to have surgery to get my cherry eye fixed and THEN I will be ready for my forever family. Right now, I am being kind of mean to other doggies because they are all bigger than me and I am scared. When I am over my kennel cough, mommy will give me a chance to really interact with the others and see how I behave. One thing we know for sure though is that I don't like cats one bit! (This is one of the reasons why mommy found me at the shelter in the first place) I'm having the time of my life in rescue! I get to go to work every day with my new mommy and she plays with me all the time! Everyone that sees me thinks I'm just a puppy, but I'm not, I'm just very very tiny. I have no other known health problems besides my cherry eye, but that will be fixed before I'm even available for adoption. Right now, mommy tells me that she is currently accepting applications for my adoption, but I'm not ready to go just yet - I have to have surgery first. Oh! Also, mommy says that I may be a local adoption only because she wants to come visit me often, she says she will be screening applications very carefully because she wants to find the PERFECT home for me. When mommy came to get me from the shelter, she got 3 other bullies within 36 hours of picking me up. I am in relatively good condition, but some of my other bullie rescue friends are not. Mommy tells me that I should keep my ears open for anyone that would like to help sponsor my cherry eye surgery. In rescue every dollar counts and with all the new intakes, especially the ones like me that need special surgeries, we could really use your tax-deductable donations. Thanks in advance - Nugget.

Name: Darla
Estimated Age: -
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Hi! My name is Darla and I was confiscated from my owners by Miami-Dade Animal Control because they weren't taking care of me properly, neglecting my medical needs. I was at the shelter for a long time before a wonderful lady came to rescue me. You see, during the time I was at the shelter 12 of my friends died from a very serious bacteria/virus. I came into the shelter with kennel cough, an upper respiratory infection, and large mammory tumors - I had to be put on quarantine my whole stay there. Because of the mysterious illness that was killing my friends, no one wanted to come get me because I was exposed to an infectious and fatal disease. My days were running out and I knew if no one came soon, I would go to doggie heaven. When my rescue mommy came to pick me up, I was sooooo happy I peed in her car on the way home! At my new house I have my own crate, blanket, food, water, medications, eye drops, a neon pink leash and collar set all to myself! This is the life I've always wanted! I'll be on quarantine for the next 10-14 days while I overcome my sickness and then maybe I can play with the other bullies here. As soon as I'm better, I will be spayed and then I'm off to my forever home!
3-18-08 Update: Darla will have surgery on 3-26-08 to remove her mammory tumors.
3-26-08 Update: Darla's x-rays on her mammory tumors and further testing have revealed a postive finding for cancer. The cancer has spead through her body and branches off every direction inside her. Surgery is not an option at this point.... we had a difficult decision to make about 10 minutes ago when the vet called. We quickly called the foster parents and they have decided to keep Darla until the day comes when GOD calls her home.

Name: Olga (Morda)
Estimated Age: DOB: 4-20-03
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Adopted by Jesus on 3-12-08.....
Olga came to us as an owner surrender on 2-26-08. Earlier that day, we received an e-mail from her desperate owner who was contemplating euthansia becuase she could no longer keep her. Fortunately, Olga found her way to Adopt-A-Bull Rescue that very night and now she's safe in our custody! Olga was born in Poland, but has lived in NY for all her life. Just last month, her family moved to S. FL and Olga is having a tough time transitioning from the move.Olga is a very sweet girl that has grown up around young children, she is okay with other dogs, but doesn't pay them too much attention. Olga suffers from epilepsy and has occasional seizures - for this, she is on daily medication. Olga has had long-standing ear infections that have left her with irreversible damage to both her ear canals. She may need ear canal ablation surgery to fix her ears. Today, Olga went to the vet for a complete exam, blood work, and she is now current on all her vaccinations. She has never been given a heartworm pill in her life, thankfully she tested negative for heartworms today and has begun her monthly preventative.
3-6-08 Update: Please keep our rescue girl, Olga, in your prayers. She has had 11 major gran mal seizures since 12:00am last night and she is currently staying overnight in a 24-hour animal care hospital staffed with specialsts. Her prognosis at this time is very uncertain.... we are taking this hour by hour. Doctors have loaded her up on meds and have induced a coma-like state temporarily. The last two seizures Olga had were very bad, they keep getting increasingly worse, more severe, and closer together in time. I guess in a way it was good that Olga seized in the doctors presence, Olga gets really stiff, falls over with limbs extended while her whole body vibrates and then she turns blue, her tongue hangs out and with her mouth wide open foam and mucus come out of her mouth. The doctor is scared she might aspirate or catch a pneumonia from breathing back in the mucus. Olga will again have a complete blood panel done with x-rays and the whole bit. At this time the financial aspect is the least of my worries. The next 12 hours are critical for our baby girl, in the near future, Adopt-A-Bull may have a very hard decision to make.... if Olga doesn't make it for us herself :(
3-7-08 Update: Olga hasn't had a seizure since yesterday! She is in stable condition at the hospital, very drugged up and lethargic, but the vet said the good news is she's eating like a piggy! Olga will remain in the hospital for a couple more nights for further observation/treatment.
3-9-08 Update: Olga was released from the hospital this afternoon and she has been seizure free since her admission!
3-11-08 Update: Good news is that she has had no grand mal seizures. Bad news is Morda is not happy, in fact - she is very UNHAPPY. She paces constantly from one room to the next, always panting. She is very anxious and not able to relax or act like a "normal" dog. She is pretty much unresponsive to humans and does not interact with my dogs. She seems to be "in a world of her own", and that is not a happy world. She cries a lot, baying -almost like a basset hound. She will pace to the end of the room, then stand and cry for a minute... pace to the other end of the room, cry for a minute, and so on. We called the vet this morning about her behavior, and she said that she is "very concerned"; that she should not be acting that way - especially with all the depressive medication she is on. She said that there is very possibly permanent brain damage from prior seizures. I also mentioned that Morda seems to "twitch" often. The ER vet said that this could be more small seizures. She recommended a neurologist; but said they would want to do $2000 worth of tests, and she knows that is not possible. The office consultation alone is a small fortune and could be set up on Wednesday. But, I'm not sure that will tell us more than we already know. We feel that unless her behavior changes drastically, she will not be adoptable.
3-12-08 Update: I have contacted 5 separate people, my vet, a specialist, a university vet professor, neurologist, a vet tech w/experience in this issue, besides the ER DR. that treated Olga in the hospital the whole weekend.
Based upon ALL factors considered:
- the way Olga acted the day we got her, previous indications of brain damage
- her history
- the way she is currently acting
- the mini seizures she is having daily, multiple times a day
- her lack of 'awareness' and constantly 'in her own world'
- her pacing back and forth, never seems to be at rest, always crying out
- her depression (howling), constantly barking and crying staring off into space
- her confusion when you go to act like you are picking her up and she snaps back
- her current quality of life
- future prognosis
All parties agree that based on everything Olga has irreversible brain damage - already pre-exsisting prior to her surrender to rescue, but perhaps even further since her recent episodes. There are a lot of details and little examples of things that would take forever to explain and write out, but it's more than just what we've shared via the internet.
Our board has decided to let Olga rest in peace.... We can't keep going back and forth on this..... it's seems we are trying to justify in our own heads why we should do this when we know the decision is obvious and clearly apparent. We are torn, tired, and stressed - we don't want Olga to suffer in this life anymore than she already has. It's really not as simple as kissing her on the head and letting her go to Jesus..... this is so hard... I feel like she's my child. I don''t know her that well, but I love her. Goodnight my sweet angel.... we are so sorry.
A MESSAGE FROM HEAVEN - From Olga: Don't worry about me everybody.... I'm with Jesus up in heaven! This is the life I'm tellin' ya.... there are so many awesome bullies up here with me and I have so many new friends! I've never been happier in my life and for once I can actually see, hear, and think properly. I'm not in any pain, I'm not scared, and I'm finally at peace. I just have one message to all my rescuers and friends back on earth: please hug your bullies tight and show them you love them every day and night.... don't take anything for granted and remember my rescue mommy's favorite saying: "Not all bulles are as fortunate as the ones we call our own."
Please take care of my friends back at Adopt-A-Bull, they need help the most right now - as for me I'm finally happy and content, don't worry (and stop crying mommy.)I lub yew! - Olga

Name: Popeye
Estimated Age: 1-2
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
On 2-21-08 a small animal shelter in Brevard County opened up in the morning to find an abandoned English Bulldog at the entrance to their front door. With no vet on staff, Popeye dog sat in a kennel until he was rescued by Adopt-A-Bull on 2-28-08. As soon as we got Popeye from the shelter we headed straight for the vet. Currently, Popeye is being treated with daily ivermectin injections for his severe case of demodex mange. Popeye has lost nearly 75% of the hair on his body and in place of hair, he now has bleeding, oozing scabs :( Popeye's right eye has a very bad ulcer and he may have entropion, we'll know for sure once the swelling goes down. His feet are red and swollen, he will need to be neutered when he recovers from his current ailments. Thankfully Popeye has tested negative for heartworms, Lyme disease, & Ehrlichia. Despite his physical condition, Popeye is in great spirts - he is very friendly, rides nicely in the car, takes treats very gently from your hand and even knows "sit!" We do suspect some type of abuse in Popeye's past because when we raise a hand over his head to pet him, he does flinch and retract :( Currently, Popeye weighs 56.5 pounds, but he is severely underweight. Popeye's recovery may take time, but I promise this boy will be bull-ti-full once we are done with him!
Please visit Popeye's Blog for more info!

Name: Major/Archie
Estimated Age: 19 months
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Shelter rescue 3-1-08 from Key West. Major is a bull-ti-full fawn and white bullie boy. He's already neutered and stacks up at 73.5 pounds! Major has been bounced around to 3 different homes in his short 19 months on this earth. He does have slight loss of vision in his right eye, but that doesn't stop him from plowing everything in his path down like he was a bowling ball! Major is a very playful boy and loves wrestling around with other bullies. When extremely excited/playful, Major does not jump up on people, he does the butt-wiggle dance like crazy! Major is an absolute love - he'll flip right over on his back and swat at you with his paw for a belly rub. Because of his size and tendencies in the past of not doing well around children, Major will not be placed in a home with children under 18 years of age. Bullie experience is required for this handful of a boy - strong leadership and consistency is a must. Major loves to go for car rides and tolerates bath time. When you put a leash on Major, he enjoys taking his humans for a walk (instead of the other way around.) Major is up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative, and is currently looking for his forever home.
3-4-08 - Major is under-going further evaluation before specific placement requirements are determined. It looks like Major may have some insecurity issues with females/strangers that are unknown to him. Major would most likely do well in a home that is led by a strong male figure. Major gets along very well with other playful dogs. Last night Major was wrestling around with the other bullies in the doggie room until I physically separated them because they were so out of breath.
3-12-08 - Major would do well with a firm male in his life to take direction from - he's a big 73 pound doofball that loves other dogs, just a little uncertain about strangers and takes a few days to warm up to new people. Major is a big, strong ,squish-faced softie once you get to know him. Major is a little uncertain about strangers at first, so the introduction period meeting new people should be gradual and always end on a positive note.

Name: Dino
Estimated Age: Young
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Dino was picked up as a stray and held by a local county animal shelter until he was rescued by Adopt-A-Bull. Here's what we know about Dino so far: heartworm negative (this is a good thing since we did pick several ticks off him!), recently neutered, previous surgery scars on his right leg, gets along with dogs a little too well - he enjoys humping them all, has separation anxiety - will bark and cry when you leave him alone. Dino is a ham and enjoys baths only when you put the soap bubbles on top of his head...lol :) He currently weighs 48 pounds, but is very under weight. Dino is still under evaluation.... more info to come.
4-23-08 UPDATE: Dino is doing great in foster care! He's being a good foster brother, gaining weight slowly and keeping his bullie sister (also a rescue) in check :) Dino had knee surgery yesterday to remove some stainless steel pins from a previous surgical procedure and will have his eyes evaluated next for possible entropion/dry eye. Dino enjoys going out to the ball fields for games with his 2-legger siblings and he's the star of the crowd. He enjoys hamming it up for spectators, and loves visiting with new people!
6-21-08 UPDATE: Dino has had entropion surgery. He is doing just great and is feeling no pain after having his eye lids fixed. Its amazing how much better he is getting around, he no longer runs in to the wall or bumps in to the furniture. He even manages to get up on the footstool which he has claimed his own.

Name: Piggy
Estimated Age: 3
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Miss Piggy was sitting in an animal shelter for 8 months before being rescued by Adopt-A-Bull. Piggy's story: On 6-3-07 Piggy was confiscated by her owner when a witness observed Piggy being thrown off a moving pick-up truck. Piggy's kennel card indicated "infested with fleas, very thin ribs showing sides turned in, no collar, scars of previous collar that was too tight." Piggy was forced to sit in a run at a county shelter in North Florida until her case was over, you see....the county caught the owners and pressed charges. Piggy was being held as evidence in an animal cruelty case against them. Late February, the trial ended and Piggy was going to be put down. Instead, Adopt-A-Bull came to the rescue and took her in. A wonderful volunteer named Nicki rented a car, picked Piggy up from the shelter and drove 6 hours down to us for a successful transport! We immediately took Piggy to the vet, got her up to date on her vaccines and ran some blood work. Piggy is heartworm positive, needs to be spayed, and needs cherry eye surgery. She is still very under weight, coming in at 38 pounds. Right now, Piggy has been placed in a loving foster home where she is the only dog in the house. She is receiving tons of love and attention and her heartworm treatment will begin immediately. Piggy will be ready for adoption after her surgeries and heartworm treatments.
4-23-08 Update: Piggy is doing great in foster care. Her heartworm treatment went well and is now complete. Upon re-test in 2 months we hope for a negative result so Piggy can be spayed! Piggy is being spoiled to death by her foster parents and they plan on adopting her once she is adopt-a-bull. Go Piggy Go!
6-18-08 UPDATE: Piggy tested negative for heartworm today and was spayed! She is now being adopted by her loving foster family. ; )

Name: Spike
Estimated Age: Young
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Spike entered our rescue program on 3-9-08; he came to us in very bad shape. Spike is not quite ready for his forever family although he looks good in his picture, Spike will undergo a series of surgeries once he is healthy enough to be put under anesthesia. From what we understand, before making his way to Adopt-A-Bull Spike was basically confined to a crate 24 hours of the day. He had little interaction with other dogs and hardly no human contact. Spike came to us with open sores on his legs (due to confinement in a crate that was too small for him), a terrible fungus infection on his neck wrinkles, a bad ear infection and on top of it all, he was very anemic. Spike’s future surgeries will include bilateral entropion surgery performed by laser (on his eyes), a tail removal & amputation, and he will be neutered. From what we have observed to date, Spike is good with other dogs, cats unknown, he is housetrained, very intolerant of heat, crate trained, and has mastered the famous bullie butt wiggle! Spike is heartworm negative, we have gotten him up to date on his vaccines, and his recovery is on-going.
For more pics and up to date info, please visit Spike's Blog!

Name: Gordo
Estimated Age: DOB: 2-26-05
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Gordo entered our rescue program on 3-9-08. His original owners were expecting a child and gave him to a friend of theirs. This 'friend' also became pregnant and didn't want to have Gordo inside her house, let alone touch him "because he was dirty and he smells" so she asked her husband to retrieve "the dog" from the backyard for us, this is where Gordo has been living for the past 3-4 months. Upon surrender, we asked the woman if she had any food for him that we could have so we could transition him slowly onto ours and she did not. This was no surprise to us, Gordo is very underweight, who knows the last time he even ate a good meal! Once home with us, and after a very extensive vet visit it has been determined that Gordo is heartworm negative (Whoooo Hooooo!), and is in great health besides some minor corneal scaring on one eye and closed up ear canals due to long standing ear infections. Gordo is a very playful boy that gets along fabulously with other dogs and doesn't mind cats either. Gordo is very well behaved and gets along nice with children. His tail will require daily cleaning as it is very tight and his ear will need daily attention as well. All around, Gordo would be a great addition to any home! Are you the one for Gordo?

Name: Sissy
Estimated Age: 5 (according to her records she was born in 2003)
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Sissy is a beautiful cream and white female English Bulldog surrendered by her previous owner due to economic circumstances. All shots are up to date, she has been spayed, and she is heartworm negative. Sissy has a very happy sweet disposition and a loving personality. There are no problems bathing her and she loved to be brushed and pampered. Sissy had cherry eye surgery on her left eye this past November and requires lubricating drops on a daily basis. She only has partial vision in this eye due to living with the cherry eye for over a year. Sissy does not appear to have any skin allergies but does have a slight weight problem. This is not uncommon in females after they have been spayed. Her weight at the last vet visit was 55 pounds and the vet recommended she loose down to 45 pounds due to her petite build. I am monitoring her diet and making sure she gets plenty of exercise in order get to weight to a healthier level. Her toe nails are slightly splayed and it appears that at some time in her life she may have been kept in a wire cage of some sort. Sissy has a very tight inverted tail that must be cleaned on a daily basis. She does not mind this at all and I also apply anti-itch cream after it is cleaned. Sissy is housebroken loves to go for walks with someone when she goes outside. She also loves to go for car rides. At the present time, she is housed with two other bulldogs, a male and a female, and has shown no signs of aggressiveness and willing goes into her crate without any problems. Sissy went to a new home in November, but the lady who took her decided she wanted to travel and did not need the responsibility of a pet. This lady had a one year old grandchild and three year old grandchild and they both loved and adored Sissy. She appears to be good around children, but all pets should be supervised around small children. Sissy has been exposed to cats, she gets along fine with them as long as they don't try to eat her food. lol :) She's a pig when it comes to her kibble! Although Sissy does well with other dogs, we are looking for a home where Sissy can be the only dog and the center of attention. Sissy needs a loving forever home where she can be spoiled and loved and pampered for the rest of her natural life.

Name: Bubbles
Estimated Age: 2-3
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
How Bubbles joined the Adopt-A-Bull family: we received the following e-mail... "My brother, who lives in Hollywood, FL, answered a call regarding a stray dog. After answering the call, he came upon a much neglected, female English bulldog. My brother is a police officer for Hollywood PD. He filed a report regarding the dog and decided to take the dog in to be checked out. His girlfriend works at a vet’s office and ran a complete blood panel on the dog along with other tests. The dog came back negative for Heartworm but tested positive for hook and tape worms. She was given medicine to get rid of the worms. She had fleas and has also been treated for this as well. She is missing a patch of hair, which was initially thought to be demodex but came back negative on a skin scrape, hooray! She also has one hot spot on her back that are believed to be from scratching. The dog was surprisingly chipped and my brother contacted the owner. Needless to say, the dog was given away from owners in South Carolina. They gave my brother a song and dance about the dog but said they would freely sign the dog over to him. The dog is approximately 2 years of age. She has no eye, mouth, or nose problems. After being seen by a vet she seems to be in good condition. It was believed that she has been living on the streets for about 2 months. When the owners were contacted, they said that is when she was given away. She is under weight. She recently weighed in at 44 lbs to be exact. The Vet advised the dog is approx. 10-15 lbs. under weight. She does need to be spayed and needs some socialization. They do not believe she does well with other animals. At this point, he is looking to turn her over to rescue."
5-27-08 - Adopted by Foster Mommy!
6-19-08 - Update from new mommy: " I wanted to send you a new picture of Baldwin and to tell you how grateful I am that I saw your website and got to adopt her. She has brought such joy to my life. We have a great time together and even when she is sassy and stubborn, I adore her. Anyway, thank you again for all the hard work that your Rescue group does for Bullies!"

Name: Zena
Estimated Age: 4
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Zena was listed on Craigslist in Atlanta and is in the process of being railroaded to Adopt-A-Bull. She is 4 years old, was in the hands of her third owner, and lived outdoors :( She has been bred at least once. She has dry eye that is being treated with prescription ointment, a tail pocket that hadn’t been cleaned in at least a year until today, and her skin is dry and flaky. I attribute her skin issue to being fed a poor quality commercial dog food. It took four shampooings to get her clean, but now that she is clean her hair is super soft. She has gotten along well enough with my female bully and my two cats, but my big dogs scared her into snapping at them. It was purely the fault of the big dogs though, they are very overwhelming and noisy. She is fine with my calm tempered, older shepard mix. I believe Zena would do well in a home with male dogs, preferably a submissive one. Zena tends to tolerate males more than females. She lived with three young children, a 7 month old, a 3 year old and a 7 year old. She did fine with the kids, cats unknown.
4-29-08 UPDATE: So far Xena is doing really good in foster care! She likes to lay outside on the grass. She doesn't' t really like the actual bath but is very happy and bouncy when she's done. I took her to PetSmart yesterday and she loved all the attention she was very popular.

Name: Rocky II
Estimated Age: DOB: 8-9-06
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Rocky is a young and very energetic bullie. He is a petite bullie weighing in at 39 lbs, but his personality is anything but petite. He is a dominant boy and needs a firm and assertive leader to keep him in check. Rocky feeds off excitement and will pick up on the energy around him. However, when he gets too wound up he can be unpredictable. This is mostly exhibited with new people entering the home. When visitors arrive, he gets very excited and upon meeting them he tries to dominate by jumping up, humping, and nipping at calves and thighs. We have been working with him on this behavior. Rocky can only meet visitors while on a leash and visitors can only acknowledge him when he is sitting and in a calm state of mind. Extreme caution even after the initial meeting is still important because he will still try to sneek in a nip if you're not watching. Once the visitor has been around for a while and he is completely calm, he is allowed to free roam but with the leash still attached and a watchful eye looking over him. So far this approach is working, but it takes time, patience, and consistency. In Rocky's world the rules are the rules.... NO exceptions! Absolutely no evlvation on furniture and no sleeping in beds! He must be in a crate when unsupervised and at night to sleep. He pulls on the leash and needs a strong arm to teach him how to walk properly. Rocky gets along with submissive dogs only. Rocky will not be placed in a home with kids. Rocky will only be placed in a home with bulldog experience or experience with dog behavior issues. On the up side... Rocky is a very sweet, affectionate, and loving dog that loves to be by your side. He bonds quickly with his owners and is well mannered with his toys and food, and knows all the basic obedience commands. He also doesn't exhibit the before mentioned behavior with his owners, provided that they are asserting themselves as the alpha role. He is healthy and athletic. This boy can easily jump four feet straight up and has no problem clearing over a baby gate or small fence. Walks and play time to keep him exercised is a must. He has a very minor cherry eye in his right eye, but it is so slight that surgery is not recommended at this time. Rocky is truly a gem and a wonderful dog, he just needs someone dedicated to working with his issues. Please fill out an application if you are interested in adopting from us.

Brief Description:

Name: Barkley
Estimated Age: Young
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Barkley was found as a stray by a small county animal shelter in Central Florida. His owner was located through his microchip information, however she surrendered him voluntarily to the shelter because she "didn’t have any time for him." Barkley is a playful pup; he gets along with other dogs, but likes to chase cats. So far, he does well around all people, needs a little help with his manners so he doesn’t pull on a leash or bolt through doors. Barkley is in excellent health, he has a nice red/fawn coat and could gain a few pounds. Barkley is a young bullie, already neutered and up to date on his vaccines. He's not really lazy like other bullies, although he loves to sleep, Barkley also likes to run around the yard and is more active then some. This week he will have surgery to remove a small cherry eye in his right eye. Please fill out an adoption application if you are interested in adopting Barkley. He will be ready to go to his forever home in just a matter of days!
11-4-08 Adopter Update: "BARCLAY is doing great. He was at the vet today, still having some issues with his right eye. Normal bull dog stuff. He is a big bullie weighing in at 83lbs. He was 63 when we adopted him in May. We were told he needed to gain 15 lbs. I think he has reached his max. Barclay has been a wonderful addition to our family. We all love him so!"

Name: Roscoe
Estimated Age: DOB: 5-8-04
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Roscoe (intact) was discovered by Adopt-A-Bull when he was being advertised on craigslist as an owner surrender. Roscoe's orginal owner (who apparently owned two EB's) gave only Rosco away to his business partner a few months prior to us getting him. Upon surrender, Roscoe came with a 'bag of goodies' (pictured) but due to the overwhelming amount of creams, meds, bottles, lotions, and sprays contained within, Roscoe's previous owner didn't administer any of them b/c he was unsure of what he needed or what to appy where. Immediately upon intake, Roscoe went straight to the vet. It was clear that this boy needed a lot of fixing up! Thankfully he is heartworm negative, and is now up to date on all vaccines. He does have a fairly obvious skin condition that he is currently being treated and his tight tail needs to be closely monitored. This week Roscoe will be getting neutered, he will also get a couple teeth pulled and have entropion surgery on his eyes.
Update 4-22-08: We were just able to obtain Roscoe's complete medical history dating back from when he was just a pup! It seems that Roscoe's problems have been due to lack of maintenance and follow-up on behalf on his humans :( In his medical chart, it had been noted all the way back in 2005 that entropion surgery was recommended on Roscoe's eyes. Poor baby. Don't worry Roscoe, just 2 more days and your eyes will be fixed (and so will another part on your rear side! lol :) )
Update 4-29-08: Roscoe's triple surgical procedures went very well. Roscoe is now in a foster home recovering. Update from new foster mommy: Everything is going great! He's very happy, he has had no problem eating and going to the bathroom he also let me clean his tail and put cream on his eyes without a problem!! It is the cutest thing, my boyfriend loves him to death... he woke up an hour early to spend time with him. Hahaha in 4 years I've never seen anything like it!

Name: Alexxa
Estimated Age: 3
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Alexxa, a very gorgeous red/fawn girl was rescued by Adopt-A-Bull from a local high-kill shelter. Alexxa has been with her foster family for the past few weeks. Alexxa has adjusted well. She is very lovable and sweet and very playful. She is housebroken and crate trained. Alexxa has a slight vision impairment which makes her a little sensitive to loud or sudden noises. We also believe this makes her a little nervous around other dogs at first. She is now warming up to the two other dogs in her foster home, but can be a little aggressive if a dog is unknown to her and gets a little to close for her comfort! She is unsure with other dogs until she knows she can trust them. She seems fine with cats. Alexxa would make a great addition to any family who has the time love and patience to help her adjust to her new surroundings in her forever home.

Name: Snuggles
Estimated Age: Young
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Snuggles entered our rescue program on 4-27-08. She came from a high-kill shelter, was found as a stray, her body covered in demodex mange. Snuggles is already spayed, weighs 43 pounds, heartworm negative and has the softest solid white coat. <--- that's why we named her Snuggles! Snuggles will be treated for demodex mange for the next month (at least) until she is ready for a forever family. Snuggles gets along with children and other dogs as well, cats unknown. As far as personality goes, Snuggles is a little love bug! Just talking to her will make her wiggle butt go crazy and she loves to give kisses. Snuggles has not shown much interest in toys, she's a little on the timid side, but she does love to hop around the yard like a little rabbit. We are currently accepting applications for Snuggles.
UPDATE 5-19-08 - What an energetic girl! Snuggles is currently in a foster home being treated for demodex mange and will be available for adoption after she has medical clearance from the vet.
11-4-08 Update: Everything is gr8. We absolutely love Stella (Snuggles) We are so thankful to you for our wonderful little girl. She is the love of ourlives!!! We want to foster another Bull dog around January.

Name: Winston
Estimated Age: DOB: 1-11-01
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Adopted by Jesus...
Winston was doing so well in his foster home and continued to show improvement with his skin infection and seizures. His eyes were being maintained with meds and he was happy as can be with his doggie-door set up. However, in the past week he was acting more and more agitated and then suddenly started to vomit and diarrhea blood. He was rushed to the vet only to discover a possible mass/tumor or severely enlarged spleen palpated in his stomach area. There was no surgical solution for him because of his over all compromised health issues. It was in the vet's medical opinion that it was best for him to be laid to rest. This is the hardest thing we have to do in rescue, and never gets any easier. Good-bye Winston. You were a gentle soul that deserved the best in life. Although we only had a few short months with you, we hope you were comfortable and happy in our care. Your silly old-man bark, your sometimes stubborn 'tude, and your funky bursts of playfulness always made us laugh. We will miss you Winny-Boy... may you now rest in peace snoozing in the clouds.
Winston is a super sweet bullie that came to us as an owner surrender. Winston has had epilepsy since he was two years old. Thankfully, it's been under control by medication and monitored by frequent blood level tests. He has had thyroid issues which is also controlled by medication. He is on drops for dry eye and has a history of surgeries and infections in the left eye. Winston has lived most of his life outside and loved to be a little dirt piggy. He made himself quite comfortable in the dirt and thus causing chronic skin infections. Most of his neck, chest, and groin area is infected and being treated by antibiotics and medicated baths. Winston is a loving mellow guy who gets along well with other dogs, cats, and kids. He even "adopted" three stray kittens in his old neighborhood! He loves getting belly rubs and happily rolls over for them. Winston is doing good adjusting back to indoor life. He is potty trained and will bark at the door when he needs to go out. He still enjoys being outside and we'll find him napping in the sun or snuggled under a bush. Winston has a lot of love to give and is looking for a very special family to enjoy the rest of his life with!

Name: Boss
Estimated Age: DOB: 6-30-00
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Boss comes from a loving home whose family could no longer care for him. So, in an effort to find him the most suitable new family, the owners decided Adopt-A-Bull would be the best fit to find him a wonderful new forever home. Boss is a sweet, loving, male Olde English Bulldog. He is accustomed to being around other dogs, both large and small and is the most affectionate Bullie you will ever meet! In Boss’s world, there are few requirements…clean water, food, love, and lots and lots of belly rubs! He is a low maintenance dog, very comfortable being on his own, as well as around others. His only ailment is that he is blind. He did have another large dog companion that helped him get around and now that she is gone, he has a tendency to run into things. After a short time in a new environment, he acclimates well and is able to navigate successfully. Boss loves play-time and rest-time and anyone that can provide a warm, loving home, should inquire about this genuine and dedicated canine companion. He would be a wonderful addition to any home and will provide lots of love and smiles!
5-14-08 Update: Boss gets neutered today! He's the biggest boy in the house and loves to wrestle around with the girls in the grass. He has really adjusted well in foster care and has memorized the layout of the house and backyard!
5-27-08 - Boss is featured in our June newsletter! Boss is a super sweet Olde English Bulldog. He came from a loving home whose family could no longer care for him. He absolutely loves being around other dogs and people. He makes friends with every dog he comes in contact with and will play wrestle all day! For a big boy he is the most gentle dog in the Adopt-A-Bull pack. Boss is a very affectionate bullie that wants to be near you and will role over in a heart beat for a belly rub. His only ailment is that he is blind. For years his vision has gradually deteriorated and with no definitive cause, it was diagnosed as ocular degeneration. It has left him with silver-white eyes that we think are quite unique and in a way beautiful. Boss had a dog companion (she passed away a year ago) at his previous home that helped him get around. He definitely seeks out and bonds with other dogs and would make a wonderful companion to any K-9 brother or sister. After a short time in a new environment, he memorizes the layout and is able to navigate around just fine. Boss is almost eight years old, but don't let that age fool you, he's an extremely healthy, happy, and playful bullie that has lots of love and years to give. All of us at Adopt-A-Bull have already fallen in love with his charms and we know he'll make a great addition to any family.

Name: Cuddle Bug
Estimated Age: 3
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Cuddles, aka Cuddle Bug, is an absolute lover girl with people, and is truely our little wiggle butt princess! Cuddles is in great health, already microchipped, spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and weighs around 45 pounds. Cuddles may have had a litter or two in the past by the looks of her sagging under-belly skin :) Cuddles is house trained and likes to wrestle around with other dogs. When Cudds entered our rescue program, she had 3 infected teeth pulled, so it's very important to maintain oral care/tooth brushings with Cudds to keep her mouth and breath smelling good. Cuddles had injuries to her ears when we got her, but now all her scabs are gone and her fur is beginning to grow back. Cuddles can be a very dominant/alpha girl upon first interactions when meeting new doggie friends and she tends to show her dominance right from the start. She is not shy going up to a new doggie and asserting her 'in charge' attitude from the second they meet. Cuddles may do better with larger dogs than smaller ones. And we feel that households with submissive dogs or no dogs at all would be best for Cudds. Cudds is not really an active girl, although she loves to wrestle around with the boys and take charge when out in the backyard playing with the others. Cuddles is a very independent female, but at the same time, she loves to cuddle and get smothered with kisses! Cuddles is a small, compact girl with lots of personality. It's so funny to see her romp around in the backyard like a little bunny rabbit. She's solid white except for a brindle dot on top of her head and one on her rump! :)

Name: Tank
Estimated Age: 2-3
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
This baby boy is great with other dogs and kids alike. He is very strong and loves loves loves to play with toys. Tanks even plays fetch and will actually bring the toy back to us! His favorite thing to do is give 'paw', and give paw, and give paw without command. Tank loves to lounge around in the house, just throw him a toy and he'll keep himself busy for hours. Tank is house trained and crate trained. He is already neutered, has no health problems and is up to date on his vaccines. Tank is ready for his forever home and is looking for that special family to call his own.
11-4-08 Adopter Update: "He is doing SO WELL!!! He and Nigel have finally figured out whatever issues they were having and are now great bully brothers. They sleep together at night on a giant pillow at the foot of the bed. They spend their morning playing - taking a break - playing - taking a break - playing... you get the picture. Afternoons are for long naps and dreams in mommy's office. Tuck is very healthy - the vet found a spot of arthritis on his spine, but it should not be a concern for a long time yet. We have him on all-natural anti-inflammatories and he is doing just fine. He does have to have his anal sacs expressed about every 3 weeks, but it is well worth the money!!! Peuw! He loves to go out and about and is crazy for all the attention he gets! When we go to PetSmart, he prefers to ride in a cart and be petted and adored by his admirers. He also will pick out his own toys - we go really slow down the aisles and he will reach out and grab the toy that he wants. What is really funny is that he COMMITS to the toy that he chooses and will play with it at home until he eventually kills it by ripping it, breaking it, pulling out the insides, etc. He does remain a sucker for a belly rub - when we go to the vet (where they all LOVE him), he basically walks in the front door and lays down on his back and waits for people to rub his belly. He is such a piece of work!!! I need to send some photos - I'll have Kim do that tonight. He and Nigel made great friends with several italian greyhounds that our friends have. They have girlfriends all over the place! It's very odd that they do really well with little dogs, but bigger dogs make them absolutely crazy! Finally, we had to sell some of our furniture and buy a sectional couch so that we could all be up there together at night to watch movies/tv. Now, each bully can pick a mama to snuggle with and it has eliminated lots of frustration on EVERYONE's part!"

Name: Ginger
Estimated Age: Adult
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
6-4-08: Ginger was laid to rest a couple weeks after we rescued her from a local kill shelter. Ginger was an older dog, possibly hit by a car in her past, her body was riddled with branches of mammory tumors. Numerous health problems overwhelmed Ginger's quality of life and our board made a very difficult decision today. We are so sorry you didn't find your way to our rescue sooner, Ginger. Perhaps then, we could have gotten you the help you needed earlier in your life. RIP - Ginger :)

Name: Hercules
Estimated Age: DOB: 4-12-04
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Hercules is a shy and timid handsome male English Bulldog. You can’t help but melt at the sight of his white face, big eyes and brindle body wiggling so happily to see you. He was surrendered by his owners who love him dearly but because of their newborn’s allergy to the fur, they could no longer keep him nearby. To ensure that he found a new home with a family or owner that will love him, they sought out Adopt-A-Bull Rescue to help find him another home. He is perfectly healthy and low maintenance except with the normal ear infections that occur once to twice a year. Hercules is bigger than your average bullie, weighing in somewhere in the 65lbs plus range, but loves to do the same things as the other bullies. He love to sleep throughout a long car ride and especially loves to play in the ocean. He is crate and house trained. He will follow you where you go but has to sit close to your side. He enjoys a good walk, a vigorous scratch behind his ears, and lots of love. He will give you his paw for a petting or a little doggie paw massage. He had a pug for a companion as much as the pug drove him nuts, he put up with him. Right now he’s looking for another companion but one that looks like him, if possible. If you’re willing to share your home and couch with me then I’m your bullie. I’m very energetic and always ready to “PLAY, PLAY, PLAY” and “LOVE, LOVE, LOVE”.
11-3-08 From Adopters: "Everything is going really well with Herq! His personality has truly come out over the last few months and he makes us laugh all the time!"

Name: Leo
Estimated Age: DOB: 5-11-06
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Owner surrender to shelter due to forclosure. Leo is a bull-ti-full happy bullie boy. He just turned 2 years old and is full of energy. Leo gets along with all of his other bullies friends, cats unknown, and loves to run around in the barkyard, wrestling with other dogs. No known health problems, Leo received a clean bill of health from the vet and is doing just great in our care. Leo is up to date on all vaccines and will be neutered in the next couple weeks, then ready for a forever home. Leo is perfectly crate trained, house trained, and loves to be around people. He is very obedient and shows submission to humans. Abuse is suspected sometime in Leo's past by the way he cowers and hits the ground if people approach him too fast.
11-4-08 Adopter Update: "Leo just went this a.m. and got blood taken for his allergy tests. The lab they send it to will give a list of what he's allergic to, including fabrics and things you wouldn't think of! Then based on his allergies they list food suggestions and any allergy shot suggestions! I am so happy about this and wish I had tested him right away. But of course I thought I could figure it out myself with food changes, etc. and spare Leo the prick test. Turns out this blood test only costs $400 and sounds very thorough to me. And I spent more than $400 at the vets before today LOL. Sweet little boy is worth it, just want him to be comfy.) Good thing is I had bought the vet ear cleaning solution last month, his ears are fine this time, no yeast. But he broke out this weekend (whenever it rains alot) and he had bumps down the center of his back again, but worse. He has staph. Leo is such a loveable joy to us. Our house just feels complete with him here. Zoey adores him and they are like a little old married couple, happy and adorable together."

Name: Barney
Estimated Age: Adult/Senior
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Visit Barney's Blog for more info & pics!
Barney has been adopted by Jesus. Barney passed away in peace and happiness with his long term foster family. In these past five months while in Adopt-A-Bull's care, he was loved and spoiled to every minute of every day. When Barney came to us, he was in terrible shape; anemic, positive for ehrlichia, and kidney disease. Although you would never guess he was very ill because of his tenacious spirit and wonderful personality, his terminal kidney failure has finally taken its toll. Barney was quite a lover and a character. He made us laugh with his silly antics and strong will. He will be missed dearly. Rest in peace, Barney baby, we love you.

Name: Guido
Estimated Age: DOB: 2-15-07
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Guido came to us as an owner surrender from a family in Miami. He was originally from Columbia and imported to the U.S. when he was just 4 months old. Guido is in excellent health, up to date on all vaccines, and is a stunning boy to look at in person. His bull-ti-full red coat shimmers in the sunlight and his baby face is so velvety soft we can't help but kiss him all the time! Guido is house trained, crate trained, and is used to life as an only dog although he's warming up to the other bullies at Adopt-A-Bull. He was used to commuting to work daily with his orginial owner, likes getting body rubs, tossing/catching toys, is very calm during bath time and is used to having his teeth brushed. As far as personality, Guido is a very loving, playful boy with people. He is very shy and timid, especially in new enviroments and in places he's never been before. He's sensitive to loud noises and is very aware of his surroundings. Guido looks like a big tough boy, but at heart he's just a big mush. Transition time for Guido is very a delicate process and it's imperative to take things one step at a time with him as not to frighten him. At this point, Guido would do best in an environment with no small children because of his tendencies to get frightened easily.
UPDATE: Guido has been neutered and is ready for his forever home! We have learned that Guido does not do well around certain types of moving objects that have wheels like bicycles and skateboards. Guido pulls on leash and would most definitely need a harness opposed to just a collar. We are trying to teach Guido that furniture is for humans only and that bullies stay on the floor. Guido would do best as the only dog in the house, no children under 18. An adopter with bullie breed experience is preferred.

Brief Description:
Pebbles was found as a stray and admitted into our rescue program after her 5 day hold was up. Before we loaded her into the car at the shelter we spent a good 1/2 hour picking ticks off her. Name: Garth
Estimated Age: Young
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Garth's profile from foster mommy Michelle:
Garth is a laid back cool dude. He is very passive and sweet natured. He is estimated to be around 2 years old and has been neutered and had entropion eye surgery done on June 21st. He is gaining weight nicely. Garth enjoys short walks and has a cool swagger :) He plays nicely with our 2 year old male bully who bothers him constantly, and he never seems to mind. He will even give you a high 5 for a treat! What can I say, he's a love and shows affection unconditionally.

Name: Angus
Estimated Age: Adult
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Hi! My name is Angus! My owners dropped me off at the pound for absolutely no apparent reason and I can't seem to understand why. I am a good boy, I have big brown eyes, nice clean ears, a wonderful smile and a bull-ti-full brindle coat! I am very heat sensitive and must always be an indoor bullie. My favorite thing to do is cuddle up on a nice fluffy dog bed, or even the couch if you'll let me! I am already neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date on all my shots. I get along nicely with other doggies, I am housetrained, and love attention from people. I am a relatively mellow boy, not that active, but I can move if you let me run around in the yard!
7-14-08 Update from new foster mommy: Angus and Tank were adorable this morning – both of them stretched out under the dining table. Tank normally goes for the tiled floor, but lately he goes where Angus goes. And you’ll laugh at this – I was taking them both out early this morning. We have a screened in porch area in front with a screen door Tank is afraid of (he must have got clipped by it once). Angus always goes first and today he just stopped right outside the screen door, so that Tank was stuck in the doorway – Tank didn’t like that at all and was pushing Angus’ butt forward with his head…it was about 40” of solid snorting bulldog going through the door and no one was moving. Made me laugh out loud…

Name: P-Nut
Estimated Age: 12 weeks
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Baby P-Nut came from a local kill sheter. He was dropped off with his brother by their owner/breeder because they did not want to invest the money in helping him get over his upper respiratory infection/kennel cough. P-nut is the perfect pup! Besides his kennel cough, there is absolutely nothing wrong with him. P-Nut is our very first puppy, non-profit rescues like us never get puppies - the average age of the bullies we get is around 5! Needless to say, we will be screening potential applicants for P-Nut very carefully. If you are interested, please fill out an adoption application immediately. P-Nut will be available for adoption after his cold clears up.
7-30-08 FROM ADOPTERS: "I wanted to give you an update on how Adopt-a-Bull's first puppy is doing here in Orlando. Peanut/Jagger is well adjusted now and he and Biggie are getting along wonderfully- they loooove each other! As I'm sure you'll see in the pictures, they are always together and where one goes, the other follows or is right next to. Thank you so much for matching us with him- Mark and I absolutely adore him and I can assure you he is showered with love daily. Poor puppy's days are filled with playing, relaxing, pampering and lots and lots of love and kisses. Jaggs is the perfect little baby with the sweetest dispostion and Biggie is really enjoying being a big brother and having him around. He is growing like a weed and is a very popular at the vet's office. They can't believe that little Jagger nut was a rescued baby... he flirts with all the girls there and enjoys the attention :). We absolutely love him and are so thankful to you and Adopt-a-Bull for rescuing him and placing him with us for his forever home- he is the perfect addition to our family and we love him with all our hearts. Name: Pickles
Estimated Age: 4
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Pickles is a bull-ti-ful brindle girl that loves everyone. She came to us from the Miami-Dade shelter after her five days was up and no one wanted her. She is super sweet and gets along great with all dogs and people. She is always happy to see you and wiggles her little "J" shaped tail like crazy! She has bilateral corneal scaring from past ulcers but they do not seem to affect her vision. Unfortunately, she tested positive heartworm and will begin treatment soon. Pickles has a great temperament and personality and has plenty of love to go around!
**We are currently looking for a local foster home (with the hopes of future adoption) for Pickles while she is under medical treatment.
**UPDATE 10-1-08: Pickles has completed her heartworm treatment and tested negative today! She will now begin monthly heartworm preventative and will be tested again for heartworm in two months.

Name: Apple
Estimated Age: 1-2
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Apple was picked up as a stray and taken to the Miami-Dade shelter. She came to Adopt-A-Bull with yeasty skin infections in her nose rope and tail pocket, as well as a scabby hot spot area on her back that the shelter shaved and treated. Being an all white bullie, she will always have sensitive skin that needs to be monitored closely. Apple is young, healthy, already spayed, slightly overweight, well manored, good with dogs, and an absolute diva! She can be stubborn when she wants to and definitely demands to be treated like a princess. She bounces all over the place to greet you and loves to snuggle up in a big fluffy bed. We totally adore our Apple baby!
11-19-08 Update from foster mommy: Apple baby is wonderful. She's settled in here nicely and acts like she owns the place already. She loves to lay on the footrest of my husband's recliner and if he's in the chair and doesn't have his feet up, she growls at him and head butts his legs until he puts the footrest up and gets her on it with him. He made the mistake of letting her sit in my office chair the other day and she's right now at my feet, making her little growl and trying to get in my lap. We all think she's found her "forever" home. We quickly realized how strong headed she is. She's not shy about letting everyone know exactly what she wants. But she's also sweet and obedient most of the time. She's lost some weight while she's been here and is looking good. With the weight loss, she's gotten more active.
12-5-08 Update from adopters: "I just wanted to give you guys an update on Apple. She's doing great. We're taking her back to Dr. Sands next week to check her urine again. Hopefully the crystals will be gone and she can go back to regular food and cranberry pills. She and Pudge are friends now. Pudge came over on Thanksgiving. We were apprehensive because Pudge had been very aggressive to the stranger in "her" house the first time they met. This time she was a sweetie and she and Apple did very well together. Pudge is here with us now for a couple of days and there have been no problems. I'm so glad because we love our grandpuppy Pudge and wanted her to be able to visit peacefully. It's good for Apple too, because Pudge is very active and she gets Apple to run and play. As you know, Apple is very lazy and avoids exercise as often as she can. Thanks so much again for Apple. You are really doing a wonderful thing for the bullies you rescue."

Brief Description:

Name: Bert
Estimated Age: 2
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Bert is a very young, happy, playful boy! He came from a local kill shelter where they found him as a stray. He came in suffering from heat stroke, his internal temperature was a dangerous 106.8, they gave him a bath and ice bags which reduced his temp to 102.5. Bert is Demodex positive, but heartworm negative. He is already neutered and microchipped. He has a great attitude and an energetic personality. Bert had a few crusty lesions on his back, so some areas had to be shaved and scrubed with Chlorhexidine. We will be treating his skin condition and when Bert is recovered, he will have entropion surgery and then be available for adoption.

Estimated Age: 11-9-03
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
HUGGIE BEAR now has her own BLOG! Please visit Huggie's Blog for all her bio info and her rescue (and re-rescue story)!
Arrival Story: Huggie Bear, previously known as Yancy, came to us as an owner surrender. Her brother, Buster, was also surrendered to us by the same owner a few months after Huggie.
Bio: Upon admission into our rescue program, Huggie was overdue for some very serious medical attention. Besides being months past due on her rabies shot and other vaccines, Huggie's eyes and ears needed to be treated due to some long-withstanding infections. Huggie is a very sweet girl, gets along with other dogs and children. Her ears will require constant monitoring and frequent cleanings. Nutrition plays a big role in Huggie's continued improvement and she must continue to be fed a high quality dog food, preferably grain free. Huggie Bear's adoption will be limited to the S. FL. area.
Likes: wrestling & biting feet!
Pet-Peeves: other dominant dogs.
Favorite Toy: Nylabones!
Motto: "Clean my ears please! I love to have my ears massaged!"

Name: Butch
Estimated Age: 2-3
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Butch came to us as an owner surrender. Approx. 1 year ago, Butch was borrowed from a friend, supposed to spend a week in a backyard to mate with a mixed breed female for purposes of producing a litter. Well, what was supposed to be a week turned into a year and for that whole time, Butch has been living outside in a backyard. The orginal owner never requested Butch back and the home owner just left Butch in the yard, her husband refusing to let the dogs inside the house :( A kind roomate convinced the owner to surrender Butch to our rescue program. Amazingly Butch lived right in our own backyard, literally, he was only 3 blocks down the road from our main foster house. Butch is a very sweet boy, one of the most gentle bullie boys that has come into our rescue program. Gets along with other dogs and children. Is a bit underweight, his ears recovering from fly bites. After Butch has recovered from his neuter surgery, he will be available for adoption.

Name: King Koopa
Estimated Age: 6-7
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Koopa, formerly known as Brutus, came to us as an owner surrender. Thankfully, Koopa found us just in time - his owner was about to drop him off at the pound unless we took him immediately. We got a call early in the morning and by the same afternoon, Koopa was ours. Named by us, King Koopa resembles the fire-breathing boss on the Super Mario Nintendo games. This low key, darling, Rolie Polie boy is older in age. He is very typically of the classic bulldog "look" but the extra pounds he carries inhibit him from walking properly. Koopa gets along with children and other dogs, he is in good health overall, but is missing some teeth due to poor oral care. Koopa has extremely deep face wrinkles that require DAILY cleaning. His ears also need frequent attention/cleaning each week. Koopa will be available for adoption after he loses some weight as is able to be neutered. In the meantime, we are looking for a foster home for Koopa. Interested in Koopa? Please fill out an adoption application on our home page.

He is being put on meds for his eyes and skin and being neutered. Chunk is a happy doofy boy that gets along well with everyone. He has a very prominent nose rope with deep folds that will need daily attention to prevent infection. Chunk is ready to add some joy and laughter into someone's life.... is that you? :)

Name: Brutus

Brief Description:

Name: Beefy
Estimated Age: 4
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Beefy was initially found as a stray before we rescued him from a local shelter. Before we met Beefy, we were told that his kennel card indicated he was "morbidly obese" and boy - they weren't kidding! This poor bullie boy is so big, he can barely walk! So far we know that Beefy gets along with other dogs, he has the sweetest personality and is a complete lover boy. Our biggest task.... taking at least 10 pounds off this boy! A vet visit is in order, we'll keep you posted! If interested in fostering/adopting Beefy, please fill out an application!

Name: Lulu
Estimated Age: Adult
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Owner surrender due to children being allergic and not enough time to give Lulu the attention she deserves. Lulu is a very sweet bullie girl with a laid back personality. Being all white, Lulu does have sensitive skin, but this is carefully controlled with a proper diet and medicated baths every 2 weeks. Lulu gets along with other dogs and children as well.
UPDATE 8-5-08: Lulu had spay surgery and is recovering well. With medicated bathes and wipes her skin has improved greatly. She is happy and ready for her forever home!

Name: Mickey
Estimated Age: 1 & 1/2
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Mickey is an 18 month old bull-ti-full bullie boy with a fabulous personality. The bouncing ball of energy would do best in a home without other dogs due to his jealous personality. He gets along great with people, but prefers to be the only dog in the house. No known health problems, already neutered and ready for his forever home! Please fill out an application if you are interested in Mickey!
UPDATE: Mickey has been claimed and reunited with his original owners!

Name: Arthur
Estimated Age: Young
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Arthur is a teddy bear boy with a playful heart of gold! He came to us from a local shelter with some crusty, scabby sores on his body and a very odd haircut. Eighty percent of his body appears to have been shaved, leaving random blotchy spots of thick fur about. No one is exactly sure who or why... maybe a cruel joke or a sad grooming attempt? Luckily, it's only cosmetic and with time eventually it will all grow back into his beautiful brindle coat. The crusty lesions are the last stage of staph infections and pose no major health issue. Arthur is good with other dogs, very playful, and a total sweetie. **Arthur had fun playing with our rescue girl Punky... check out the pics below :)
12-15-08 Update - Arthur is recovering from cherry eye surgery and entropion surgery on all 4 eye lids. His hair is growing in, his skin condition is much better, but Arthur has sensitive skin so his new family must be attentive to this at all times.
4-13-09 Adopter Update: Just wanted to give you an update on Arthur. He is doing great! All of his hair has come back in and he looks beautiful. He did have to have a big wart zapped off his head last week but took it like a real champ. The only problem the vet had was everytime she tried to examine his eyes he would smother her with kisses so she could see:) His real personality is finally coming out and he has developed a delightful spunk. Luckily he has stopped harassing the cat. He does snore like a freight train but we have all learned to sleep with it in the background. He is great and we all love having him as part of our family. Will send pictures as soon as he lets me get some good ones.

Name: Gorda
Estimated Age: Young
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Gorda is a super affectionate bullie that was an owner surrender. She has no immediate health issues and is a happy and loving girl. Gorda was diagnosed with hip dysplasia when she was a puppy but it has not required surgery thus far. Her hips could pose a problem later in life and may need surgery if it starts causing her pain. Through out her life, constant monitoring of her hips by a licensed vet is a must.
Update 8-6-08 Gorda has been spayed and is recovering. Very soon she will be ready for her forever home!
11-4-08 Update from adopter: "Gorda is doing great. She is such a pleasure and has definately become comfortable in her new home. It really is a great fit. We have found out all her tendancies. She is not a big fan of other dogs, so our situation worked out great. We are still working on some housebreaking issues, but nothing a steamcleaner can't fix! She does beg for food a lot, and we don't give her table scraps. She really is an awesome dog with a ton of personality and we are really excited to have her."

Name: Piper
Estimated Age: Young
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Piper is a young, active, happy little girl full of life & energy. We rescued her from a local high-kill animal shelter. Piper is already up to date on all vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and has tons of love to give! She can get very attached to people and craves human attention. Piper always wants to be around people and when it's time to crate her up or baby gate her away for bedtime she will cry a little. Piper has not demonstrated any destructive behaviors such as chewing or marking when she has free roam of the house, but when there is no one home to supervise her, she should be crated (as with any dog). We have been crate training Piper for the last few weeks and she is showing great improvement! Piper gets along with most other dogs and when introduced to a cat, she just ingored it. Piper is looking for her forever home.... could it be yours??? Please fill out an application if you are interested.

Name: Rocco
Estimated Age: Adult
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Rocco was surrendered by his owner when his spouse passed away and he could no longer care for him alone. He is an alpha male, already neutered, up to date on all vaccines. Rocco will not be placed in a home with small children or other pets. This boy has very deep face folds that require daily attention. This big smoosh face is quite a lover and craves human attention. He'll be at your feet following you around the house every minute he gets. Rocco is crate trained, house trained & is in great health!
1-7-09 Adopter Update: Rocco is doing great! He's such a happy and fun dog to be around. He has brought so much happiness to our family and we cannot thank you guys enough for letting us adopt him. He went to the vet back in September only a few days after we adopted him and he had all his routine exams done. I'm not sure if we sent you a copy of the paperwork. If we didn't, let us know and we will be happy to do it. He takes Frontline and Interceptor once a month. We've also been walking him three times a day (morning, afternoon and night) for about 10-20 minutes each time, depending on how much energy he has. Sometimes we try to walk him after he has just taken a nap, and that never goes well, because he's too sleepy and only wants to walk for a maximum of five minutes. He's so funny! He loves his walks and has become friends with all the dogs in the neighborhood. He loves people and all of our neighbors also know and love Rocco. Three times last year, we took Rocco to a nearby dog park. Although we were quite nervous at first, not knowing how Rocco would react to being around fifty dogs at once, he behaved amazingly well. He obeyed all of our commends, stayed calm and interacted very well with all the other dogs. When he released him from his leash so he could run around freely, he stayed by our sides and never tried to run away. He is certainly very friendly to other dogs and NEVER exposed any kind of aggressive behavior around other dogs or people. He sleeps a lot at night and takes several naps during the day. He has a football that we gave me back when we were still fostering him, and he plays with that quite a lot. He has a great appetite but we do not feed him anything other than his dog food. Rocco also has a girlfriend here in the neighborhood. Her name is Selma and she's an English Bulldog that lives on the forth floor of our apartment building! She's very cute and crazy about Rocco. I guess that's it for now. Please feel free to email us at any time if you have any questions or concerns. I have also attached some pictures of Rocco at the dog park and at the house.

Name: Cain
Estimated Age: 3 years young
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Cain came to Adopt-A-Bull because his owner suffered a very terrible accident and can no longer care for him. Cain will be undergoing entropion surgery before he is available for adoption. Here is a little info about Cain fromthe relative that has been currently taking care of him: "Thank you for talking with me this morning about Cain. I have checked out your site and love what you are doing to help these dogs. I so wish that I could keep him. I have 3 kids in the house and a cat and bird. He loves everyone!! He is very lovable. He is house broken and also has a crate. I have been walking him 3x a day and he listens to everything I tell him. When a car is coming I tell him to get in the grass and he does!! I was there when my cousin bought him and I have loved him forever. My cousin had a motorcycle accident and has a traumatic brain injury and is no longer able to care for him. My husband said we could keep him for a while but not forever. Cain is truly the greatest dog on earth!!"
September 2008 Update from Adoptive Mommy: "Just wanted to let you know Cain did great at the vet's today. They loved him and he got enough belly scratches to make the vet's office a fun visit. He weighed 45 pounds, and he'll presumably gain a few more here at his new house. He gets along great with the family (and anyone else)."
2-16-09 Update: Cain is great! He is the KING of the backyard and has found enjoyment chasing squirrels. If he ever could catch one I don't know what he would do (probably run from it). Now that the weather is nice he loves to be outdoors with us. Otherwise he is snoring away in his kennel--his favorite spot. If I can catch him sleeping on his back in there I'll send a picture. He is so funny! His curiosity keeps us laughing and he has turned out to be a terrific guard dog. He barks every time someone comes near the door. He's so full of life! We've never had any trouble with him. He listens well and is sweet to everyone he's met. Oh, and he is a little heavier than he was when I first brought him home! I've cut back on the food a little and increased play time...it happens to the best of us! He and Sandy chase and play really hard every day in the yard...it's hysterical.

Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Found as a stray, most likely disposed of by an irresponsible breeder, Adopt-A-Bull rescued Jaxsen from the county shelter. Jaxsen is just a playful puppy, great temperment, absolutely adore-a-bull! He's getting over kennel cough and may have incontinence issues, possibly a slight form of spina bifida. Jaxsen is currently looking for a foster home in the Broward County area. Because he has kennel cough, you will either have to quarantine him or not have any other dogs in the house. Please fill out an application of you can help this Bully Pup mix.

Name: Oreo
Estimated Age: 4
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
This lovable and comical 4 1/2 year old Brazilian Bulldog is a great addition to any family with a yard. He is lovable great with all ages, infants too, loves to play, swim, walk, and horsearound. The Brazilian Bulldog is the larger cousin breed to the English Bulldog. He weighs 95 lbs. and is Black and White. He has all shots and annual vacinations and is very healthy, will be availalble as soon as he's neutered. Unfortunatley, as much as his previous owners love him, they have found they do not have the time to attend to him properly, because they travel alot.
11-6-08 Adopter Update: "He is a wonderful dog! Great fit! Loves everbody and everyone who meets him thinks he's the greatest. Goes to the dog park about twice a week and makes new doggie friends. Is nuts about wanting to "go in the car". Have anymore "Oreos" and Linda & I would probably bring them into the family pack."

Name: Goober
Estimated Age: Adult/Senior
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Goober is a funny bullie-man that is full of life and smiles! He came to us from the Broward County shelter in need of a serious bath and attention to his skin infection. It took multiple bathes to get him clean, his nails were inches long, and the whole underside of his neck is infected and raw. He obviously never had his nails trimmed and protested to his pedicure. But in the end we got it done and he got a treat to see that it really wasn't so bad. His eyes, ears, and joints are great. Goober is an older bullie, but with plenty of life and personality. He greets you with a underbite smile and an energetic wiggle-butt dance! His skin will take time to heal with the help of meds and medicated bathes once a week. Goobs will be scheduled for neuter surgery very soon as well.

Name: Winston II
Estimated Age: Young/9 months
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Winston II is a big bullie boy for 9 months old... already weighing in at 50 lbs! He was surrendered by his family because they didn't have enough time to give him all the attention he needs. He's a big doofy sweet heart that is still learning some basic puppy rules. Winston is already neutered, completely healthy, and ready for his forever home!

Name: Fergie
Estimated Age: 1 year old
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Fergie is a small cutie-pie, weighing in at only 30 lbs! She has an awesome personality and loves to follow you around everywhere. She gets along great with dogs, cats, and kids. However, Fergie has some breathing and esophagus issues. She was regurgitating her food after eating and has labored breathing typical of bulldog air way issues. We took to be evaluated by a specialist and she was diagnosed an elongated soft palate, inverted sacules, and a distended defect in her esophagus. Surgery is needed for the palate and sacules and will be scheduled soon. There is no surgery that can be done for the esophagus. Instead she has to be fed in an upright or inclined position to allow gravity to help get the food into her stomach. She is fed slowly and kept at an incline after she's done eating to insure everything has worked it's way down. So far, this feeding position has worked wonderfully. Luckily, Fergie's foster mom has stairs in her home and that's currently where she gets fed. For the long term, she can have a normal life being fed this way, however the possibility for aspiration and pneumonia is higher. Fergie will not be ready for adoption until after she has fully recovered from her surgery.
UPDATE 11-3-08: Fergie is going in for her soft palate and inverted sacule surgery tomorrow morning. She will spend the night at the specialty animal hospital. If all goes well, Wednesday she'll be back in her foster home for post-op care. Wish her luck and a safe surgery!
UPDATE 11-7-08: Fergie finally came home tonight from the animal hospital. The surgery went well, but she aspirated blood during procedure and has pnemonia in one lung. She stayed at the hospital for close monitoring and is recovering well. Fergie has to be on strict activity restrictions and a soft food diet. In two weeks, after her meds are finished she'll have a post-surgery and pnemonia recheck.
UPDATE 9-1-09: Fergie is looking for a new forever home. She was adopted last year only to be returned to us due to "lack of an emotional bond." She now weighs in at 41 pounds and has been put immediately back on a diet of good quality dog food. Perhaps getting her off the crappy dog food and milkbones and back onto Canidae will help her get her girly figure back soon.

Name: Jewels
Estimated Age: Adult
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Jewels is just the sweetest little lady. She is very well mannered and gets along with everyone, people and dogs. She is currently in a foster home with four other dogs ranging in ages and gets along with all of them. She has not been tested around cats. Jewels is looking for someone to give her the love and attention she most definitely deserves but has missed. Jewels was picked up as a stray in a rural part of North Carolina. After waiting several days for her owner to come and claim her, she was released to Adopt-A-Bull. She had been neglected for quite sometime, to say the least. After a much needed bath and pedicure, Jewels headed off to the vet. Jewels weighs 51lbs, is heartworm negative, has chronic dry eye, and a skin infection on her underside from lying in dirt. She is receiving medicated eye drops to help lubricate her eyes and an anitbiotic ointment to clear up the conjunctivitis. She is also taking antibiotics for her skin. We believe Jewels may possibly be deaf (which is common in white bulllies). However, she must have a keen sixth sense, because it doesn't effect her daily functions in any way. Jewels is beautiful and has the cutest freckles on her ears, she is going to make someone very happy! In a couple weeks she will be spayed and ready for her forever home.
Update from Adopters, 1-5-09: Jewels is doing great. She has made a lot of friends in the neighborhood and has play dates with 2 of them. Everyone loves her and can't believe how sweet she is. She has gained about 3 lbs since we got her. She was 48 when we first took her to the vet in Oct, now she is 51lbs. Her coat has finally grown back in and she seems to be very happy. Should have some more pics soon...

Name: Buster
Estimated Age: 2 years old DOB: 2-28-06
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Buster is an owner surrender, orginally imported from Argentina. Buster is actually Huggie Bear's brother... his family owned two bullies; surrendered Huggie to us first and then a couple months later surrendered Buster. Buster is a true bully boy, he snorts, snots, and slobbers everywhere. It's best to train him to drink from a water bottle opposed to a bowl; he'll stick his whole face in it to the bottom then trails water everywhere. Also, he shakes his head and slime goes flying everywhere..lol :) Buster has sensitive skin so frequent baths are essential. He also has very deep face folds/wrinkles that require constant care. Buster will only go to a home that has had prior EB experience. He is a love-bug for sure, loves human attention, gets along with all dogs, cats unknown, but no problems forseen. We neutered Buster already, and at the same time, he underwent surgery for bi-laterial entropion on his eyes. He is currently recovering, but will be ready for adoption in the next week or so. If you are interested in adopting Buster, please fill out an application immediately. (The pics posted are pre-op, his eyes are healing currently from surgery)
10-30-08 BUSTER NEWS- Update from foster daddy, Rick: "It has been several weeks now since Buster came to visit us and we have seen wonderful progress. When Buster joined us his eyelids were somewhat “ingrown” and he appeared to have difficulty with his vision. Within five minutes of his first visit, he took a nosedive directly into our pool, which I attribute to his lack of appropriate eyesight. The good news is since AdoptaBullRescue has provided an operation for his eyes; he now has healed well and sees perfectly. The operation also improved his appearance and makes him look now quite handsome. Buster is a very loving Bulldog and enjoys being near you and participating in anything you are doing. He is great with other dogs and now is living with three others with no issues. He is, for example, lying at my feet as I type this note hoping that I will give him some “lovin”. Furthermore, after seeing and owning more than our fair share of EB’s, his temperament is extremely calm. I would trust him around other persons, pets, and even children. He is completely house broken and has figured out how to travel in and out to the back yard via the doggy door. Anyway, that’s it. Just wanted to write a note letting you know that Buster will make a great new member of a family, although I am not sure I will give him up. "
12-2-08 Update: There's "snow dog" like Buster... here he is in NC trying to figure out what all this white stuff is and all these leaves??? (He is back in Coral Springs now, sleeping on the couch!!!!!!!!! I have given up the fight!)

Name: Bonnela
Estimated Age: Born in 2003
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Bonnela was surrendered to the local pound by her original owners from birth :( They dropped her and her brother off at the shelter and stated they didn't want the responsibility of owning dogs any longer. Bonnela is a very sweet girl, gets along great with kids and children, loves human attention and belly rubs! Because Bonnela is partially vision impaired from previous neglect and lack of health care, she tends to get uneasy around other dogs. Bonnella requires daily eye drops because she has dry eye, but other than that she is completely healthy.
12-13-08 Update: Bonnela is doing great in foster care & she has a new LQQK on life! About 3 weeks ago, Bonnela had entropion surgery and her vision has significantly improved! Her eye lids and lashes are no longer interfering with her vision and now Bonnela enjoys exploring the world with her new set of eyes :) She enjoys the company of 5 human boys ranging in age from 9 - 16 and gets along with 3 of the 6 dogs that she is currently living with. What we thought was a spay scar was actually a c-section birth scar, Bonnela is now in heat, and will be scheduled for spay surgery next month. Bonnela is a gentle soul with a sweet personality... her foster mom says she's a joy to care for and will definitely make her forever family very happy. Could that be you? Bonnela is looking for a soft spot to lay her head at night with a family that she can finally call her own.
12-29-08 Adopter Update: "Thank you for Bonnela! We love her so much. I must tell my family that a million times a day! I know they must be tired of hearing it! Everything she does is adorable and so sweet! She is eating really good now, licking the bowl clean! She likes the fish oil! Her skin is a little flaky dry now, after her bath, but she smells MUCH better! J Santa brought her a second bed, baby shampoo, fish oil supplements and glucosamine. She is so gentle and loving. She probably is getting tired of me loving on her, it may be more than she ever expected! She is pottying normal now, as of today too. She also has not tinkled in her crate in a day now, as far as I can tell…Great update huh!! Sorry for the details!! We are just mesmerized by her. She follows us from room to room, spreads her attention between each of us so no one feels left out. She is absolutely perfect! I looked at the website yesterday and was soooo excited to see that she was no longer on the web and had already been moved to the adopted page!! We can’t imagine ever not having her in our family! I am just soo thankful that no one else had scooped her up before we got her!! Thank you!!!!!!!! On another topic, I was shocked to see how many new bullies you had on the page. I am soo sorry, but so glad they are in good hands now! I am soo happy that they are doing well. WOW!!! Amazing stories every time. Anyway, I am sorry to always go on and on, you have so much to do. But thank you, soo much, for bringing such happiness into our home. Bonnela is an angel and we really are so happy to have her in our family!!!"
2-12-09 Adopter Update: She is terrific!!!!!!! We are all still sooo very much in love with her. She is just so perfect for us! I tell her that all the time, I hope she believes me! She has gained weight and looks terrific. I am not sure if maybe she is getting too full figured now, but my husband thinks she deserves it and won’t hear anything of me saying maybe she is getting plump! HAHAH!! Actually she is probably at a perfect weight, I would say about 60 pounds, I think she was 58 the last time we went to the vet. I need to run her over for a nail trim so I will have them weigh her then. Anyway, each of us just adore her and enjoy her! She is still showing us her playfull side, a bit more and more. She has found a new favorite place to lie down, other than her bed. It is under one of my lounge type chairs. She scratches at the carpet when she lays down under there, which I am guessing is her way of “making” her bed just right. The vet said her eyes look terrific. The cherry popped out one other time since my previous email, after she had been rough housing, but each time it has gone back in. She loves to go for walks, sit in the sunshine, and go for car rides! She goes with me on occasion to pick my daughter up from school! At first she was more nervous but each time she gets more and more relaxed. She will insist on going too, so I know she likes it! I wanted to let you know how happy we are to have Bonnela as part of our family! Thank you for all you do!

Name: Arturo
Estimated Age: 3
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Confiscated by Miami-Dade Animal services due to forclosure. Arturo was left in an empty apartment in Miami, locked in a very small cage covered in feces :( His orginal owners abandoned Arturo along with the apartment they were being forced from. Arturo is a very happy boy, loves to play with toys, gets along with other dogs (cats unknown) and even knows how to fetch and bring the toy back! Arturo is a bit more active than you're typically lazy rolly-polly bullie, he loves to run across the yard full speed enjoying himself frolicking in the grass :) He really has a sweet spirit and is quite playful, no known health problems, up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative. Arturo was just neutered and is looking for his fur-ever home. Please fill out an application if you are interested in Arturo.
11-5-08 Update from Foster mommy: "Arturo, where do I start?!?! I really can’t believe how GREAT he is…he gets along beautifully with our mastiffs and from day one he was an immediate part of our family. He loves to help my husband when he cooks dinner, it’s so funny! He’s like his little shadow and he puts his little nose in the air to get a good whiff of what’s on the menu for the evening. They are two of the cutest grill men in Boca! He’s happily putting on a few needed pounds too! Oh and how lucky are we? He came to us fully crate trained, amazing, huh? Since he’s such a good boy, we let him sleep with our girls (mastiffs). They have this huge bed next to our bed and he fits snugly in between them, he couldn’t be happier! It’s so precious! I know, I know, I’m gushing! SORRY!!! Anyway, in a nutshell I’d have to say he’s the cutest, most loving little boy I’ve ever met. I’m so glad we came across your website and were able to foster such a great boy…I’m not sure we’ll be able to give him up when the time comes…actually I’m sure we won’t want to give him up. He’s just PERFECT! : ) Thank you for allowing us to be foster parents!!!"

Name: Autumn (Bull Terrier)
Estimated Age: 4
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
It was Autumn's 5th day at the shelter...she had no adopter holds and no rescue holds. Even thou she's not an English Bulldog, we couldn't take a chance letting her face euthanasia so Adopt-A-Bull stepped forward to rescue her. Autumn was put on the surgery list, scheduled to be spayed the next day and we were to pick up later that evening. Well, between that time an adopter stepped forward and was interested in adopting Autumn, putting their name as the 1st adopter hold. The way the shelter works at MDAS, adopters have first priority over rescue.... we knew we weren't getting Autumn. There was absolutely no way the adopter would fail to return for this gorgeous sweetheart, but sure enough they didn't show during their pick-up time! Adopt-A-Bull was notified and we immediately drove down to pick her up!
Autumn came to us with a skin infection and a very chapped, bleeding nose. She has bald patches on her elbows and knees perhaps due to prolonged time on concrete. She is estimated to be 4 years old in good health. Heartworm negative, blood work comes back good, up to date on all shots, very active & curious and will nip when she's excited to initiate play. She had at least 1 litter of puppies in her past. Autumn needs to learn some manners as she's constantly jumping up on people and furniture.
UPDATE 11-12-08 - Now that Autumn is over her kennel cough, she has been introduced to the "Adopt-A-Bull pack." While Autumn shows no dog aggression she does tend to gravitate to the most submissive dog in the pack and chase them around, even trying to mount them. (Cats unknown) While, we believe, no harm is meant to the other dog, Autumn can be a bit overbearing and at times must be stopped from chasing the timid/scared dogs. A fully fenced in yard is a requirement for Autumn as she loves to run, bounce and play around outside. Her favorite toys are plastic squeeky balls, she loves to fetch them and return them to you so they can be thrown again. Autumn is very active compared to the English Bulldogs we are used to dealing with. She is very curious and often time gets herself into trouble. Doggie proofing your house is definitely recommended because Autumn loves to "counter surf." She got a hold of a loaf of bread on the kitchen counter by jumping up and proceed to eat it until she was 'discovered'. When Autumn is not crated, she must be watched every second, turn your back for just a minute can be very risky....lol :) For questions about our adoption procedure or adoption costs, please read our adoption application.
UPDATE 11-13-08 - Cats are not her thing!! She's not mean, she chased one cat relentlessly though.
UPDATE 11-17-08 from pet sitter/foster home who had Autumn for the weekend - Autumn is a very sweet doggie, who needs ALOT of attention. She loves to have you petting her at all times, when she's not chasing someone around the house. LOL. She was probably kept outside in a kennel all her life, because she doesn't know how to act in a house. Its sad... We gave her a bath on Friday, cleaned her ears. Her eyes and face have been looking alot better.

Name: Nola
Estimated Age: 10
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Nola was surrendered to us by her 2nd owners. They have had Nola for the past 5-6 years and obtained her when she was around 4 they said. Nola had been somewhat neglected by her previous owners, they never did spend much quality time with her, didn't take her for walks, playtime or anything. Upon surrender we leaned down, gave her a big hug and a kiss on her smoosh face, and we told by the owner that Nola is not used to all that attention. Nola lived with a 4 year old and a 13 year old and dad said the kids probably wouldn't even realize she was gone. Nola came to us with an awful odor, terribly infected ears, curled over nails that inhibited her walking, pastdue on all her shots even her rabies shot..... I could go on, but won't focus on the negatives. We've had Nola not even 24 hours yet and she is such a happy little girl in our care. She loves butt scratches, loves human attention, gets along with children, grew up with a newborn, loves chew toys, tolerates bath time, perfect during grooming, and will even sit for a treat! Despite her owner telling us she doesn't get along with other dogs, she's been introduced to my own 2 personal bullies without a single growl, stink eye, or problem! Today, I brought Nola to work with me because she has a vet appt. for complete blood work and a very past due check-up and on the way up to my office we have 2 flights of stairs. I was hesistant about taking the stairs, and almost took the elevator with her, but I wanted to give the stairs a shot. Well, well well... Miss Nola surprised the heck out of me. She bounced up the stairs 2 at a time. I was thinking she was going to have a problem going one by one, but she literally RAN up two at a time!! This girl does NOT act her age, it's amazing the things she does. I'd think a ten year old bullie would be groggy, lethargic and slow, especially one with emotional baggage... obviously this is not the case with Nola. I'm praying she's heartworm negative. Update to come!
1-21-09 Update: Nola is in absolutely perfect health! Gets along great with all dogs/cats and children of all ages. Nola's looking for that special home to call her own and a warm comfy dog bed to snuggle up in!

Name: CRUSH - Olde English Bulldog
Estimated Age: 10 months
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Crush is an owner surrender to the local shelter due to forclosure. Possibly an Olde English Bulldog, Crush stands a little bit taller and is slightly more active than your typical English. Recently neutered, up to date on all shots, very active and playful, gets along with other dogs, (cats unknown), great health, no known medical problems. Apparently, Crush has never been in a crate before, we have the "opportunity" to crate train him while he barks his head off in resistance. Crush definitely likes his freedom and is giving us a tough time at night when it's time to go to bed and time for him to crate up! Overall though, Crush is a great dog and loves to play with toys, he even knows "sit" and will wait patiently in the sitting position for his treat. For questions about our adoption procedure or adoption costs, please read our adoption application.
12-4-08 Adopter Update: "So far everything is going very well with Crush. I have had him just over 2 weeks now and he is now really starting to get into a rhythm with his behavior. I took him to the vets and everything seems to be fine with him. Besides a little inflammation in his face folds he is in great shape and though he is skinny is already over 60 pds. He does not like to spend any time in his cage and will bark constantly while he is in there. I had to spend a lot of time house breaking him, and have a few stains that will probably be with me until I change the carpet. He is getting along fine with my brothers dog and he spends all day at the office with me now. He tends to get very excited and then becomes unresponsive when other people are around, not that he is aggressive, but he just tends to pull or bark or misbehave. Also, when I leave him alone at all he will start barking or whining until someone appears, and even then he will bark or moan until I come back. He is a great boy and he will be huge when he fills out. I am glad I got him."

Name: Gunner
Estimated Age: 2-3
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Rescued from a kill shelter, Gunner is a young bullie boy sick with kennel cough and may need a tail amputation. His rear is really infected due to lack of cleaning of his very compressed tail pocket. (Don't know what a tail pocket is? Please do your research on the breed before applying with us.) Gunner is an absolute love, but is on quarantine right now due to his illness. We do not yet know much info. He will be quarantined for 2 weeks and then evaluated fully.
11-25-08 Update from foster mommy - Gunner is doing great! He's a really good boy, he is no trouble at all. He hasn't had any accidents in the house except for marking a couple of spots the first couple of days but really thats all. He is such a big baby its so funny. His snoring cracks me up at night. He loves his head to be rubbed and if you stop he puts his head by your hand and looks at you with his big eyes. Soooo adorable!! Dec 8th he's scheduled for his neuter. He's has a few more pills left to take for his kennel cough and his tail is looking good. I have been cleaning it everyday and putting the cream on his tail that the vet gave me. It doesn't smell as bad as it did and its looking better. The vet said once the cream is gone he would look at the tail again to see how its healing. But other then that everything is going really well.

Name: Jake
Estimated Age: Bet 8-12 months
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Very shy, sweet, and timid, Jake is just a puppy between 8-12 months old. Jake is in great health overall, but needs to gain some weight. He gets along with other dogs, very playful and loves to wrestle around, he is very very submissive and can be scared in new environments. Jake tends to be very vocal in situations he does not want to be in (i.e. locked in his crate during the day, put outside to potty when he doesn't want to) Due to Jake's easy going personality and extremely submissive nature, it's easy for him to become 'bullied' and picked on by other dogs. Jake is still a puppy so he 'mouths' when he gets excited, but all he really wants is someone to love him. He opens up tremendously with one on one time!
12-15-08 UPDATE: Jake will do best in a home without any children under 10 years. His nipping can be somewhat of a challenge to correct, as Jake needs a strong, assertive handler and consistent obedience training with reinforcement of desired behaviors. Jake does much better around females than males. We have noticed a pattern of mis-behaving around male figures and it is definitely possible that Jake was mis-treated by a previous male owner. He jumps up and will bear hug your leg while trying to nip for attention. His unusual behavior tends to be rather bipolar, since he’ll turn his behavioral mood on a dime from being rather calm to hyperactive jumping and biting. Jake is our ADHD dog and requires a special owner that is willing to put the time and dedication into proper training
For questions about our adoption procedure or adoption costs, please read our adoption application.

Name: Girl
Estimated Age: Adult/Senior approx 10
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Please visit Girl's Blog for her complete rescue story, pics and current updates!
Girl was discovered by one of our volunteers as she was driving thru Miami on business. She saw Girl sitting in a driveway with no food or water and in horrible shape. Our volunteer graciously rang the bell and spoke to the owner about his bulldog, he later surrendered her to Adopt-A-Bull. Upon further investigation into Girl's background it was discovered that she had not been to a vet since 2004!
3-18-09 Update: Our Lil Ole Lady is doing great! From the night we picked her up, she has been an absolute joy to have around! Her manners are impeccable, she is not greedy, is very quiet (but she does let out a little bark in her sleep), walks extremely well on a leash, has no issues with the stairs, ignores the cats, and loves her "butt rubs"!!
We have noticed one peculiar thing about this sweetie pie, she likes to rearrange her blankets. We had a blanket in her crate, but she didn't like it in there so she proceeded to pull it out and spread it out on the carpet. Once it spread to her liking, she plopped down and was snoring in seconds! Her snore is wonderful! She keeps us smiling and laughing!
Girl, Wolfie (hubby's nickname), Tater Tot (daughter's nickname), or Lolly (my nickname) loves to go for rides in the car! She has no problem jumping (yes jumping) into the backseat. Once she is back there, she likes to show us how happy she is by rolling around all over the backseat! Then she'll sit in the middle of the seat so she can see out of the windshield! She is just too awesome!!!
One would never guess that this little girl is 10!!! Of course she gets plenty, PLENTY of beauty sleep, but her energy levels are great, she has such a spring in her step!! She thoroughly enjoys meeting new people, and new dogs as well!
This lady, and yes she is a lady, would make a great addition to almost any family! She loves kids, other animals, and people too. She is one of the most low-maintenance bullies I've come across! She would love to have a forever home to be love and be loved!! Check her out and fill out an application!! Give this special bully her forever home!!!

Name: Daisy

Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Daisy has her own BLOG!

Name: Dozer
Estimated Age: DOB: 5-7-05
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Dozer is a strong willed, bull-ti-full bullie boy that requires a consistent routine, firm discipline, and someone strong enough to handle him. Dozer weighs close to 60 pounds and can be an absolute lover at times... and at others he can pull you down the block (literally). Dozer is very strong (both physically and mentally) so right now we will only consider adopting him to a home with no children under 18 and potential adopter must have bullie breed experience. Dozer was an own surrender- he lived with his family since they brought him home at ten weeks old and they took very good care of him. Dozer is already neutered, up to date on all his vaccines, and has consistently gone to the groomers every 3 weeks for the past 2 years and has been to the same vet since a puppy. Initially, Dozer was acquired for the husband in the family when he was diagnosed with cancer. When he (the only male figure in the household passed away), Dozer took charge of the 4 females in the house exhibiting dominant behavior. Dozer is crate trained and completely house trained. However, we are working to break some bad habits such as allowing him on furniture and giving into things when he demands. Dozer will make a wonderful dog for someone that will keep up with our training recommendations and consistency. If you are interested in Dozer, please fill out an application. Upon your phone interview and board approval, we will share with you more information on Dozer including. Dozer will only be placed in a home where they are committed to his training in the future, bullie breed experience is a MUST!
Update: Should Dozer become available for adoption, he will only be placed in a home where the main caretaker is a dominant figure with a background in dog training or several years experience with hard to handle bullie breeds. NO CHILDREN UNDER 18.

Name: Dugan
Estimated Age: DOB: 4-23-05
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Bio written by Adopt-A-Bull's foster parents: Dugan is extremely well behaved, listens well, and does excellent on a leash. He LOVES his carrots (and almost any other type of food he can get into). He has a blanket in his crate that I've caught him completely curled up in, he likes to be warm lol.... He does great with kids, and even babies. Our neighbor has a 3 month old little girl and Dugie thought she was his baby and was very cautious around her, sniffing and not jumping up on her mom. My kids love him, and does great with them too... Cats don't bother him at all. He is interested in them, but does not chase them or try to attack in any way. Dugie loves to be around people. He will follow us all aorund the house. When he needs to go out he starts barking and walking towards the door. At first he was a little hesitant about the steps, but now he takes them on like a champ! Most of the time he wants to go out, do his business, and come back in. But when he's in a walking mood, that little boy can go! I've taken him on walks that lasted almost an hour, and comes home and wants to play!! He enjoys his bathtime as well. We have given him 2 since we've had him, and both times he was wonderful. Dugie also does great in the car!! He likes to sit in the back and watch the scenery as we drive. No attempts to climb up front or trying to jump out of the windows (no chance of that as we only put the back ones down a little). When he first got here he really wanted to sit on the couch with us. In the past few days he hasn't tried once! We haven't taken him to the dog park or anything, but when walking him around our complex he does awesome when meeting other dogs and people! He is a very social baby!! He loves having his behind scratched, but does not like his face touched too much. He will let me clean his face after he eats and will even give me a slobbery kiss now and then.. Oh yeah, Dugan has a serious foot fetish!! He absolutley loves licking anyone's feet. And doesnt matter if they are clean or dirty!! His humping around here has stopped almost completely. Just a few feeble attempts here and there... He's doing great!! I know I am thrilled that we are able to foster him until his forever people find him!!!!
1-19-09 Foster Update: Just wanted to say hello and send you some pics of Dugie!! He snuck on the couch when I ran into the bedroom and made himself quite at home!!! We don't let him up on the couches, but he looked too cute! I took a few pics and made him get down.. We took him up to Loxahatchee Saturday to our friends house. He did excellent with their 2 year old, and their two Rotties!!! He is just a great pooch!! I am so happy we are able to foster him!!!
3-13-09 Adopter Update: Dugan is doing great. He has such wonderful qualities that have been truly unexpected and welcomed. Moreover he has been fabulous with our 11 month old daughter and she simply adores him! They are the best of friends as seen in the attached pictures. We still are working on his barking issues, but that is moving forward. I only wish we were closer and could join in the get togethers with the other bulldog families!

Name: Dexter
Estimated Age: DOB: 8-29-07 - 15 months old
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Dexter is a big puppy with lots of slobbery kisses to give! He was surrendered by his original owner who aquired him when he was just 10 weeks old. Unfortunately, his owner is unemployed and can't afford to care for Dexter any longer. Dexter came to us with a skin infection and still needed to be neutered. He lived with 3 children and although great with kids, Dexter is a very strong boy and can easily knock them down. Dexter is in great health and is a fantastic looking bullie. His face folds are very deep and require daily cleaning, as does his inverted tail and pocket. Toys, toys, and more toys will keep him from chewing things that he shouldn't.
1-20-09 Update from foster mommy: We are doing good, enjoying every moment with our sweet Dexter you just melt when you look at his droopy eyes. He is sooooo happy, Molly has gotten around to him, they play tug of war with toys all the time. The only bug-a-boo is that our little Dexter is a chewer. He doesn’t chew on the inside furniture but he has gotten a hold of some of the patio furniture. He is like a little baby always dragging his blanket where ever he goes around the house. He is also a jumper loves to jump on people and furniture (We are working on that) His favorite spot is a swing that I have in the yard and it is just hilarious how he rocks himself. P.S he has healed very nicely from his neuter! The first couple of days they were a little swollen because he was so excited, jumping and didn’t stay still. But we had to calm him down and he did really good.

Name: Murphy
Estimated Age: 1 & 1/2 - Born around May 2007
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Hi, I’m Murphy. I was recently surrendered because my owners moved away. I am in pretty good shape, but in need of a little TLC … I am not too fat, but not too skinny and I have pretty nice coat of fur, if I do say so myself. Forgive me if it looks like I am squinting in my photos, but currently I am suffering from eyelid entropion, and will require surgery to fix this issue. Also, I have deep face folds and some funky yeast on my paw, so my new mommie and daddy will need to be prepared to care for my sensitive skin. I am a lover through and through, and love nothing better than to spend my time with you. A mellow couch potato, I would love to sit contently by your side with you as you watch your entire movie library. Hope you don’t mind my snoring!
Likes: I like rides in the car - especially the front seat! I enjoy walks in the neighborhood, lying superman style on the nice cool floor, and drinking from the hose!
Dislikes: I tried some Watermelon... it's kind of tasty, but weird, and I am not really sure what to do with it. I would much rather have a tasty grain free holistic treat!
Motto: Can I have a hug?
UPDATE 1-13-09 - Murphy is currently recovering from his neuter and entropion surgery.
UPDATE 2-11-09: Murphy is fully recovered and ready for his forever home!

Name: SUMO
Estimated Age: DOB: 12-8-07 - 13 months
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Arrival Story: Sumo was recently surrendered to Adopt-A-Bull by his owner because she wasn't able to provide him with the time and attention he deserved. She also couldn't afford his (desperately needed) entropion surgery.
Bio: Sumo is playful puppy and gets along with everyone! He has the sweetest temperament and just wants to be loved :) Sumo would do okay in a household with other dogs because he gets along with all the Adopt-A-Bull bullies and the dogs in his foster home! Sumo does well with cats too! The perfect forever home for Sumo would be a family that is able to provide several hours a day of undivided attention and is committed to raise Sumo in the proper way. Sumo is crate trained and knows several commands. He is very obedient and willing to please :)
Likes: Wrestling around with other dogs and sleeping comfortably in his house (crate).
Favorite Toy: ANY toy....as long as you're playing with him!
Motto: "Gimme a massage, I lub dem!"
UPDATE 2-11-09: Sumo has recovered wonderfully from his very extensive entropion surgery. The vet was very impressed with his healing at the recheck appointment and has given him a great prognosis. Sumo has to continue some eye meds for corneal trauma from the entropion irritation. He is a happy boy and enjoying himself in his foster home playing with his new bullie sister!
FOSTER UPDATE: Here are some of the latest pics of Sumo. He is a good boy and we love him dearly. The transition was easy as he just loves to be loved. He fits perfectly into our family and Mejla (his bullie sis) loves him too. His eyes look wonderful and have cleared up nicely. Sumo is a very happy boy. At this point, I don't think we can part ways as he has found a permanent place in our hearts.

Name: Muggs
Estimated Age: 3
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Arrival Story: Muggs was rescued from a local county shelter on 1-21-09. He was found as a stray and never claimed.
Bio: Muggs, an English Bulldog mix, is a very happy bullie boy estimated to be about 3 years old. He has a stunning brindle coat and eyes that melt your heart. Muggs has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on all vaccines. At one point in his life, someone cared for him very much because we can see a scar from a tail amputation. He jumps in the air when he's excited and absolutley adores human attention and lots of petting :) He does well with other dogs and likes sticking his head where it doesn't belong.
Likes: To jump like a rabbit, frolick and run around in the backyard like a goof!
Dislikes: Being left alone.
Favorite Toy: Anything that you throw so he can chase after it!
Motto: "Get me outta quarantine so I can make some friends!"
3-25-09 Update from Adopter: Good morning God Mother Erica, Muggs is doing so good eats well and stays by my side all the time, he heard a noise in the garage and WOW what a bark, no one will get in this house when they hear that bark Ha! he cried a little bit last night but not for long, I just love him I trained him to sit for a treat and he does so smart. I had to make another notch in his collar getting to tight for his neck I think he gained a pound or two he loves his treats!

Name: Patchy
Estimated Age: DOB: 11-11-05
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Patchy is a super sweet boy! He, like others, is a casualty of the recession, being surrendered by an owner who loved him but was no longer able to give him everything he deserves. Patchy loves to swim, play fetch, especially in the water (he thinks he's a retriever), and chew on squeeky toys. He looks dashing in his bright orange life vest! He loves training with food. Hot dogs are his favorite! He is leash and crate trained and knows basic commands. He is also an expert at stairs. Patchy was a fan of licking his 16 month old human sister's hands. He gets along well with other dogs but does not have much experience with cats. He will jump up on people so whomever is lucky enough to give him a forever home should be able to provide structure around children so he doesn't knock them over (if only to lick their faces!) He's had a lot of alone time in the past so a family where someone is home all the time or that has other dogs that he loves should be his forever family.

Name: Dozer
Estimated Age: DOB: 1-17-04
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Arrival Story: Dozer was recently surrendered to Adopt-A-Bull by his owner who initially purchased his from a pet store when he was just 8 week old. The main reason Dozer was surrendered to us was due to a divorce and finances.
Bio: Dozer is a BIG boy at 60 pounds! He has the energy level of a puppy and loves to run around the yard Bull-dozing everything in his path. Dozer came to us still intact, 2 years past due on his rabies and vaccines, eating kibbles and bits and was not being given monthly heartworm preventative. His mommy surrendered him on Sunday and by Wednesday Adopt-A-Bull got him neutered and up to date on everything! Dozer has a clean bill of health! He is heartworm negative and his blood work results are great! All in all, Dozer just wants to be loved :) He has a bit of separation anxiety and will bark to let you know that he misses you. Dozer is crate trained (although he prefers free roam of this house) and knows several commands such as: no, sit and stay. He loves attention, does not chew anything, and is housebroken.
Social Skills: At first, we were uncertain how Dozer would react to other dogs. He lived as the only dog all his life and when introduced to another dog while restricted on leash he pulled and barked, lunging at the other dog. We were unsure if he wanted to play or fight. Well, we are pleased to say that under strict supervision, Dozer met 3 other bullies and just wanted to play and hump (no aggression). Dozer does well with cats, as his original home he lived in had a 3 year old male cat.
3-4-09 Adopter Update: "Hi. I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that Dozer is doing great. He is an absolute angel and the entire family loves him. My parents come over every sunday to visit Dozer! They say its to see us, but we know better.
We can't thank you enough for Dozer and for the service you provide. We are so grateful to have found you and him. I assure you that he is very loved and well taken care of. I have attached a couple of pics so that you can see just how spoiled he has become! Thanks again."

Name: Maggie
Estimated Age: DOB: 5-15-05
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Arrival Story: Maggie (and her brother Mugzy) were recently surrendered to Adopt-A-Bull by their owner due to an illness in the family and because she felt they were not receiving the time and attention they deserved. (Owners planned to have a litter and both dogs were surrendered to us still intact.)
Bio: Magie is a lovely laid back 4 year old bundle of wiggles who is perfectly house trained! She would be okay in a home with children and other dogs. (Cats unknown) She loves kids and is very very gentle around them - take a look at our EVENT'S BLOG to see Maggie in action as the star of the kissing booth at our Markham Park event in March 2009. Maggie is perfectly crate trained and loves to hang out in her 'den'. Maggie does not have any special needs or particular quirks about her that we feel we need to disclose - she is all around a perfect little bullie girl & is a social butterfly!
Likes: Short walks, car rides, baths, and lots and lots of love and butt scratches!
Pet-Peeves: other dogs humping her.
Motto: "Gimme some love"
Medical History: Back in Dec. 2005 Maggie had bilateral entropion surgery.

Name: Mugzy
Estimated Age: 3
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Arrival Story: Mugzy (and his sister Maggie) were recently surrendered to Adopt-A-Bull by their owner due to an illness in the family and because she felt they were not receiving the time and attention they deserved. (Owners planned to have a litter and both dogs were surrendered to us still intact.)
Bio: Mugzy is a bull-ti-full brindle boy with lots of love to give. He would be best suited in a home without children because he likes to jump and is very strong. He does okay with other dogs, but would rather mount them than play with them. (Cats unknown) Mugzy would benefit from some doggie obedience classes so he has a chance to brush up on his manners. He is crate trained and loves hs crate - that's his special place :)
Likes: Brisk walks (so he can release some of his energy), and lots and lots of belly rubs!
Favorite Toy: His squeeky hamburger!
Motto: "Who wants to play wif me"
4-4-09 Update from foster mommy: I just wanted you to know so far, SO GOOD! We made it home safe & sound... well minus the smell lol... boy, does he have a gas problem! Well we are home and its as if he was here all along! He made himself home and surprisingly he loves me!! (too much) He has been excellent so far. He is eating, sleeping, snoring, obeying all commands: sit, stay, eat... he uses the bathroom when I walk him outside... the only problem I have had with him is when I try to feed him or pet him, he has tried to get it on multiple times! I have corrected him and I let him know this behavior is not acceptable. He is learning though. I correct him when he jumps up too. In general he is amazing, to good to be true. I adore him already and its only been one night. He loves his crate, he is snoring as we speak ;) I know without a doubt that he is a perfect bullie! I already want him to stay here with me. Thanks Again!

Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!

Name: Jake II
Estimated Age: DOB: 4-6-07 - Just turned 2!!
Adoption Status: This dog is has been Adopted!
Brief Description:
Arrival Story: We met Jake way back when he was a weeeeeeee little baby bullie. He was about 4 months old when we met him thru our meetup group. His owner is now spending large amounts of time away from home/out of town and has entrusted Adopt-A-Bull with finding Baby Jake a wonderful new family.
Bio: Jake II is a petite little bullie boy who just celebrated his 2nd birthday! (And what is Adopt-A-Bull getting him to celebrate this awesome event???? How about the famous NEUTER SURGERY!?!?!?!?!?! Yea!!!!) Jake II is short, stout, and stocky - the perfect example of a bulldog. Jake II has grown up being the only dog in the household, and although he gets along well with other dogs, he is more interested in mounting them and has obsessive tendencies... gravitating to their private areas and licking where he shouldn't. At night, Jake was used to sleeping on the floor next to his owners bed. During the day, Jake was baby gated in the kitchen/hallway. With children, he likes to jump up on them and give them a nice slobbering. (Cats unknown). Overall, Jake II has a wonderful personality and would be the perfect addition to a family with bulldog experience. He is crate trained and does well during grooming.
Likes: Enjoys baths, loves to play with people.
Pet-Peeves: long walks.
Favorite Toy: Loves playing with any toy as long as you are right there to play along with him.
Medical Needs: Jake II has food allergies, as long as you bathe him often, paying attention to his sensitive skin it will stay under control. Jake will need to be kept on a premium high quality dog food, if not a homemade or raw diet, due to his sensitive skin. Future owner may even want to have him allergy tested.
Motto: "Get me outta this crate so I can mount my friends!"
