Merry came to visit us last week! She is doing great in her forever home! Her new mommy works in the same building as me (Erica) so occasionally she comes to work and pays me a visit! Here are some new pics of Merry. She has gained so much weight her knee has been acting up and may need surgery for an ACL tear/luxating patella in thr future. Merry is now on a diet!!! Can you believe it?!?!?

It's official!!! Merry has been adopted!

Merry is pending adoption...

with her foster mommy!!! Yes, yes, yes...it's terrific news, just in time for the new year! Her foster mommy has done a wonderful job helping to nurse her back to health from the very beginning. Merry has a very special place in her heart and she will be adopting her permanently. At least I get to keep Merry's two teeth that she had pulled (and visitation rights!) Do I see a visit from the tooth fairy in the near future???

1 week after surgery

Posted December 13, 2007 9:30 pm
Merry is recovering well after her triple surgical procedure. Yesterday we went in for her 1 week re-check and the incision looks good, everything is healing well. Merry does have some sort of ear infection that has developed so I had the vet send a culture out. Another thing I have noticed is that Merry's vision is impaired a lot worse than first thought. She's nearly completely blind in one eye and partial in the other. Merry walks into objects and has a very hard time judging distance. Additionally, when you throw a toy for her to chase or play with, unless the toy is a bright color like neon yellow, she can't find it. Her sense of smell is also not quite there, at times she can't locate her treats or a piece of food on the floor even when it's right under her nose. This girl needs a lot of care, it's so sad.

Merry's THANK YOU!

Thank you Dr. Sands and all office staff for helping me through my surgeries and being so nice to me. I couldn't have pulled through this without you all and for that I am so thankfull! Right now, I'm at home recovering still from all my procedures, but I'll make sure my rescue mommy continues to post updates about me.

After Surgery

Posted December 6, 2007 2:22 pm

Merry is doing well after surgery! All procedures went off without any major problems so now we are just concentrating on recovery. The surgeon presented me with a little memento from the surgery - the 2 teeth he extracted! lol :) I will treasure them forever! Hee hee hee. Merry will be on a couple different meds for the next 2 weeks and a very special care routine will be implemented to make sure her recovery goes as smooth as possible. It's so amazing how God has worked in our organization..... and how he continues to bless the rescue bullies in our care. Just one awesome example from yesterday was while Merry was in surgery our organization received some very important long-awaited news. We applied with the IRS back in July for our tax-exempt 501c3 status, and yesterday we got the call that we had been waiting for: IT'S OFFICIAL, ADOPT-A-BULL RESCUE, INC. IS NOW RECOGNIZED AS A FEDERAL 501c3 NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION. That means, for you, our donors, contributors, and supporters all donations and contributions made to our organization are tax deductible under the rules of the Internal Revenue Service. We sure hope you enjoy reading our updates and viewing pictures of the progress our rescue bullies are making. Would you please let us know you support us by making a donation today? If you'd like to help directly with Merry's medical bills, please specify that when sending in your donation. Remember, in rescue every dollar counts. We couldn't continue to do what we do if it wasn't for the support of the general public that keeps us running. We operate solely on donations from people like you who support what we do and let us know by writing that check, or by hitting that paypal button. Please think of the rescue bullies during this holiday season - they could sure use your support. Thank You
