A Real Love Story!

Posted April 19, 2011 12:42 pm

I was lucky enough to take in Ceasar in March 2010 as a Foster Parent, which lasted all of 36 hours. By then, I was in love with him, and the rest as they say, is history! When I picked him up, he wasn't at all what I had in mind. He's almost all white, and very tall. I was expecting a short, brown, wide, tank! But it didn't take long for his farting and drooling and snorting to win me over. Now, it's a year later, and although he's kind of like a bump on a log, I can't imagine life without him. Once a week, he goes to "doggy daycare" and they tell me he runs and jumps for 9 hours straight! He's usually asleep in the back of my Jeep before we get home, which is only three miles away! He has had no health problems, and he's been my best friend. Thank you for all that you do, to help not only the bullies, but for all the happiness you bring to PEOPLE, too. I've attached some of my favorite photos. Mommy J

Pebbles 2 doing great in her furever home!

Posted April 15, 2011 10:40 am
Pebbles has a new mommie who absolutely adores her & spoils her beyond belief! Pebbles was in our program for over a year before she was adopted, but boy was it worth the wait! This bullie adoption was extremely special in that it was such a perfect match and we could not have asked for a better outcome!

Princess Fatty - Prissy UPDATE!

Posted March 24, 2011 11:56 am

"I LOVED the sewing job! I cant believe you saved that stuffy..and then had it restuffed for her. That was SO sweet! She sleeps with it every night on her chair and likes to prop her head on it. We had her xrayed several years ago from a back issue and discovered that in her neck spine, it is really crooked and curved. I think it feels good to her to prop her head up like that. Her gray on her face is really starting to take hold..gray eyebrows, etc. She went to the doctor last month for her annuals and I talked to (the vet) about some issues that she has developed (frequent peeing, drinking water, weight gain- and I am practically starving her right now, more lethargic, always hungry) and we ran tests on her and she has Cushings Disease. It didn't freak me out because many older horses get it. It is just something you deal with and give meds for. She had gained FIVE freakin pounds since her last visit three months before that and I about died because I feed her just 3/4 cup twice a day. She just has that type of "barrel shape" to her.."a fat chick". (snicker) She is happy and still romps and plays..and kicks Buff's (butt) from time to time when deemed necessary...hey, you would get your (butt) kicked too if some really fat chick lunged at you and sat on you! LOL Buffy is athletic but Priss has the pounds to back her up. All she has to do is lay on her, and Buffy is thrown to the floor. LOL"

Princess Fatty had a blog we started for her when she was first rescued in 2009. Check it out HERE!

Just read your newsletter and am so glad to see that you guys are still doing such a great job. I wanted to include pictures of Dozer and let you know that after 2 years he is still doing great and is the best dog we've ever had. He really is just like one of our kids and is just as spoiled. We are still thinking about adopting a friend for him and will certainly look to you for that! Thanks again for all the great work you do.

Roxy & Juan - a perfect match!

Posted March 8, 2011 10:02 pm

Roxy was adopted last year, by a wonderful young man named Juan. Juan has turned out to be a fabulous first time bullie daddy and loves to brag on his new Princess. Juan takes great care of Roxy and couldn't imagine life without Roxy in it. Roxy enjoys taking trips to the dog park and Pet Supermarket, but her absolute favorite thing to do is watch Animal Planet! Roxy is so well behaved and represents AABR well! Juan is good about keeping in touch with our organization and sending voluntary updates and pics of his "baby". Thank God for responsible owners like Juan - this could not have been a better match!

Congrats to Stewie & New Mommy, Nicole!

Buddy, now Barney, in his home!

Posted August 27, 2010 11:25 am

Buddy (now Barney) has turned in to a very good boy (with the exception of a couple Kujo moments - cleaning ears, clipping nails and in some occasions with other dogs...but I can't explain why). He's plenty fattened up, 57 lbs. of fattened up and looking spectacular. He swims and plays the majority of the day, and then of course takes up the entire king size bed when he goes to sleep. I read everything you post and you're are still very much my HERO for all the good you do. Please know that you are greatly admired.
